Police and public health authorities armed with a warrant raided an illegal dental clinic in downtown Chiang Mai yesterday.

A sting was conducted on the premises of "Den Lab" in Chotana Soi 16.

The clinic advertised to teens on Facebook that they could have "fashion dentistry" done there for as little as 2,000 baht a go.

One parent said they had to take their child to a real dentist after their whole mouth got infected. The child had secretly gone to the clinic without their parents' approval.

Arrested was 37-year-old former nurse Rungrat who said she had been operating for three to four years.

A large amount of dental equipment was taken into evidence and the facility that was operating without the required licences was shut down.

The nurse faces between 3 and 5 years in jail on several counts of running an illegal medical practice.
