internet cafes are rapidly becoming a thing of the past... every phone is a computer, every computer a cafe...

  • I wouldn't call 300 million active monthly users nobody:   https://expandedramblings.com/index.php/skype-statistics/

I would say they use is the easiest to be in contact.

Of course Line is the app to go in Thailand, but as many of their "customers" probably not use line they use skype, whatsapp and whatever.

But your question they use still skype or smartphone now? Maybe they use now Skype on the smartphone.

LINE 9x%, WhatsApp for most the rest.

Skype very very rare.

And that's not only for BGs.

Thanks.

Back when I lived in Pattaya I would go to the internet café and it would be full of BGs skyping whichever of the BFs was scheduled to talk to.

LOL.

 ... why so serious? ????

It's tech talk. Line, WhatsApp or Skype, what do BG's, or as you wish, any Thai girl, use most these days?

I would say Line 1, WhatsApp2 and Skype number 10, unless you ask specifically for it ????

Sorry, I'm not that serious.

Agree with you that Line is number 1

Line, FB messenger, and further down the list viber, facetime for the iPhone holders, etc etc.. Skype probably rates way down there with hangouts etc.

yeah, what actually happened to hangouts? I thought G+ was discontinued?

So we are to believe that you wandered around an Internet café - FULL of 'bar girls' and checked that each and every one og them was personally skyping whichever boyfriend each of them was talking to.

Do you know how stupid that sounds?

But true, I have also seen this before, exactly like that ... long time ago.

Back in the Internet Cafe/Skype era ... starting with Win95 ????

I'm still using it along most of my familly. One of the best apps for low latency video call.

Hangouts is my preferred video calling format. But then I have given both parents chromebooks, have my companies set up with all my staff on G-Suite accounts for mail, docs, etc..

Hangouts integrates into android really well, for video, messaging, and outbound calling with credit. If they ever went serious about google voice outside of the USA the entire setup could have been moved to VoIP really well. As it stands I also run VoIP SIP systems so use the SIP features of android in a similar way.

The functionality for conferences and virtual meetings, built into google calender, open to guest visitors, etc etc is one of the more powerful and customizable setups, that doesnt require you running your own server side apps or having specialist hardware.

In short.. Big fan, but more in a corporate way.

I think most use Line or Face Book messenger

Took me a while to figure out what BG means... And I have no clue what they are using. But when I installed WeChat, I started getting bombarded with offers for massage and more. I guess Chinese tourists are in this season. WeChat deleted.
