I am Horrified by the Sexual Objectification of Women

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

It very much saddens and depresses me that young women, and even old women, even today in this enlightened world, are still seen as objects and as a commodity for sexual gratification, in any way.

What happened to the respect we once had for womanhood?

I have seen a few videos of what is going on in some countries and in some cities, and some streets which some people call "Walking Street".

In my opinion, what these really seem to be are streets for streetwalkers and very old leering men.

It seems to me that we should curb our desires, which are only natural and god-given, and instead focus our energies toward doing good in this world.

This is my absolute honest opinion, with zero facetiousness.

I am just wondering how many here feel as do I?

We need to speak up for womanhood.

Sex is a wonderful thing, and we would not be here to write about it, without it.

But, our entire culture seems to be increasingly bent on objectifying women, and then enjoying the result of this.

I think this is horrible.

How many of you are with me in my thoughts about this?

Thank you.

and my second thought is that the first priority should be to protect freedom - so regardless of what people do with their lives, we should make sure they do it by their free will and are not forced. An economic decision is still free will.

Anything the diminishes anyone's potential I am against.

Our entire culture seems to be increasingly bent on objectifying women...

You have this all wrong...since the beginning of time, women have understood the value of bartering their bodies to men for profit...

The majority of these women are not being victimized and enter this trade to provide a better standard of living for their children and families.

You want to reduce prostitution?  Start with men committing to staying with their wives and raising their own children...????

Women were objectified more in 'the past', & due to many factors i.e. reliable contraception, affordable & available child- minding - & other reasons, are not discriminated against now. They have many more opportunities to progress in a career of choice.

As for sexual objectification...post #4 answers it.

Yea, just realised that after I posted.

These trolls, at times, can be amusing. Most of them though, are childish.

Either trolling or never been to LOS.

If he had been to LOS he might realise that THAIS have the biggest sex industry in LOS, and that he should have been posting on a Thai forum to tell Thai men how naughty they are.

I love all women of womanhood. Especially the ones with little numbers strapped to the boots.

It depresses me that weak western women worshipping blokes still turn up in Thailand.

And, likewise, it depresses me when I see western women in Thailand.

(Not all.  Just the ones with rings in their noses.  And, rings in their navels.)

Curb our God given desires. Why? God tell you we should? Why did He give us those desires? Sheesh!

Why?

BECAUSE:  God lead us into temptation, INTENTIONALLY.  He was testing us.  Obviously.

Best be careful on posting certain "opinions" or "objections" to the lifestyles of people here in LOS.

The Mon@rchy in LOS have history with "consorts" and "companions" who may provide these types of gratifications.  To speak against their practices is most unwise

Sexual objectification is fine as long as there is mutual consent. In fact, what is sex (as opposed to rape) but the mutual objectification for the sake of gratification? If you and your girlfriend/wife don't view each other as "objects of sexual gratification" what's the point? Do you think she's not viewing you as an object of sexual gratification when she says to you: "Fxxx me!"?  In the case of more short-term arrangements, such as "friends with benefits" or P4P, what is the harm of objectification if their is mutual consent?  Who is hurt by it?

It saddens and depresses me that young boys became the object of sexual gratification by leaders of the Catholic Church.

Yes, this was not only sad, depressing and depraved, but also quite immoral, as well.

The lesson to be learned is that people in power usurp their power and eventually harm others, inevitably.

Power corrupts.

I will never, again, go to confession, I guess.

It goes both ways.

Women know very well how to use their body to exploit men's weakness, obsession and stupidity, for their gain.

Unless there is abuse of minors, violence or coercion involved, nobody should feel excessively guilty about sex, we are wired that way.

It has taken me a few decades to fully understand it.

Funny, you see I have managed to stay with my kids of my first marriage, and raise them until adulthood, only because of the great lunch time mongering opportunities I had in Geneva.

Right. As if anyone really knows what God wants or doesn't want. Made us in his own image? ...does that not include sexual desire? The natural drive to procreate is purely innate within Man and similarly millions of other species in this Earth. And of course for Thai people Buddhists, there is no God, so how does that fit into your narrow scope of beliefs.

Why?

Objectification is a terrible thing. I was on Soi 6 in Pattaya just minding my own business when an extremely attractive Thai woman, at least 40 years younger than I, approached me and cupped my genitals. The whole experience made me feel cheap and gave me a sense that I was just being used. I took the high road, didn't hold it against her. Just to show her there were no hard feelings I bought her a drink.

But this troll must be in writing class. The style and structure has changed dramatically from his previous, quite recent posts. Maybe there's a shadow-writer involved.

No.

Personally I would use much stronger wording than "quite immoral".

First complaining about ants in the CM forum and now complaining about sexual objectification of Thai women here? Really? Women here have much more control over the guy to get what they want from him and that is how they use it to get money and maybe a new life. Even if they are not in a bar selling themselves, they are in a sense doing it in another way to get what they want. Exploitation? Depends what way you look at it and who is exploiting who. If you don't like it then just close your eyes and avoid those places and go to the malls. OOPS. Sorry. Women go to malls in skimpy sexy clothing, so better go there either. I think I will look for your next topic of post for what the complaint of subject will be. I think the majority of guys here are not mister goody two-shoes. so i guess you came for the temples? If your a Christian then that is not good.

No.

Same thing but my Thai partner won't let me use that word in October so I substituted.

She is very traditional.

So solly.

I think that you meant: Depends which way you look at it, and who is exploiting whom
