papa testing CB150

Featured Replies

Rented a CB150 from PJ Trading Pattaya today.

Always a fan of this engine,

having owned a 2012 fuel injected CBR150 for a while

and currently at 45Kkm on my '08 carby version.

Rented the Winner in Vietnam 2 years back.

Kinda rainy today so didn't get much time on the CB,

but will wring her out for a week

and report back.

Would like to run CB v CBR head-to-head,

so if if any game Pattizens out there want to volunteer

to help test ...

let papa know.

????

150cc ??

can't see the point....

My skoota would show that thing a clean pair of heels - and i can get the shopping under the seat....

Don't forget a few pictures of the bike in your review.

I reckon this bike is the two wheeled version of the Toyota Vios.

Might not be the most exotic bike but a good steady Eddie at a reasonable price.

Utube probably has done it already or MCN. ????

Is this the CB150R ExMotion?  The one that vibrated a lot?

yes

Forget the CB 150, and try the CBD 15ml.   A much safer and healthy experience :thumbsup:

papa old school

more of a blunt type guy

I saw this advertised at PJ Trading; it looked nice, has low mileage and the price, not too bad although it has a gear shift indicator which you don't care for (lol).  I was thinking of checking it out, but I'm leaning to moving up to at least a 300.  Presently, I'm still enjoying my 2013 CBR 150R, first of the fuel injected CBR 150's with only light to moderate vibration.  I think Honda modified the CB to produce slightly less horsepower, but boosting the torque slightly.

Right.  papa got to run the bike around today.

The bike has good grunt, but

top end pretty dismal;

Couldn't even get 120 on indicator.

Did notice a little blue light on the display

which turned out to be a shift suggestion.

Also displays what gear is engaged, 1-N- ... -6.

Haven't noticed a vibration problem.

Front brake is excellent.

Returned the bike Monday after 1-week's use.

Overall favourably impressed, no big faults.

-Small criticism is the mirrors, which are large,

but 1/2 reflected the arms, not rear view.

-Bike lacked top speed vs. ceeber.

+The bigger tires and beefy USD front...velly nice.

+Front large-diameter brake impressive.

+The meter display had it all, well laid out.

+papa, like the built in clock and gear-selection indicator functions.

+ Exhaust note is nice, a low pitch rumble.

+ the low down compactness of the can.

+Wide handle-bars have nice dirt-bike feel, but

-a little limiting on lane-splitting.

The bike is 100K new;

2nd-hand @ 7000km. this one B60K, including transfer fees.

Rent was B1500 the week. (3K deposit)

//////////////////

Next up: rent the KTM Duke 200.

B1800/week.

B10,000 deposit.

///////////

If anybody looking to test a bike before buying new,

maybe this outfit, PJ Trading be the choice.

Pailin, speaks English well enough, seems honest & competent.

...papa out.
