SATTAHIP:--Wat Nongjubtao demands apology from online media

 

With all the upheaval at Wat Boonsamphan this past week, another Sattahip temple has been receiving bad online press. Phra Kru Thammayanprayuth, abbot of Wat Nongjubtao in Najomtien, Sattahip, is allegedly suing the “Big Krien” Facebook moderators for publishing rumors about the temple being greedy and only serving Chinese tours.

Govt to push ‘active ageing’ plan

Reporting on the recent National Elderly Person Committee Meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Jurin Laksanawisit, deputy government spokesperson Ratchada Thanadirek said on Monday that the number of elderly persons, defined as those over the age of 60, as of 2018 stood at 12 million or 18 per cent of total population.

Energy Minister eyes new measures to prevent CPO smuggling

Energy Minister Sontirat Sontijirawong said on Tuesday (October 29) that the Ministry will put new measures in place next year to promote the use of B10 biodiesel (diesel mixed with 10 per cent pure palm oil) and prevent the smuggling of crude palm oil (CPO), an ingredient in biodiesel manufacturing, from neighbouring countries.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Tourist arrivals in Thailand rose 10.11% in September from a year earlier, after an increase of 7.35% in August, the tourism ministry said in a statement.

Arrest warrant issued for Mae Manee for alleged Ponzi scheme
