So the price of SIXTEEN bottles of water going from 49 baht to 100 baht is causing you stress? I don't know how large the bottles are but you are talking about an increase of approx $1.50 (US) for water that will last you several days if not more. Take that out to an entire year and it's only $75 dollars or so. WHY even comment on it as it's such a menial amount of money? The doubling of price is surprising but it's a small amount of money. Not worth the time complaining about it.

With all respect, it was just an example, in my opinion, worth to mention roughly speaking.

If all the other stuff would also increase that way, it would be annoying.

I only have a certain amount of cash for particular stuff.

Sorry, but do you consider yourself "different" because you are a long term customer? You ain't. Like most farangs, you are only there till you aren't. You are also not their friend.

It would be more than just "annoying" to most but it isn't happening so….

Yeah my 7-11 girls are always pushing me to buy stuff, like totally wheedling and whining and when they have filled my bag with 100 baht worth of junk food, they give me a 20 baht discount.

It must be so tough for you, all these pretty Thai girls trying to have their wicked way with you. Ever thought of sharing your good fortune?

Short-term rentals in CM and CR increase in the high season. Apart from that, I haven't noticed any price hikes. However, I drink at home, not in bars. Refer Billy Joel "Piano Man".

All the hotel prices boosted during high season, Thailand is pretty bad.

If there is any place in the world that doesn’t raise its prices during high season- I haven’t found it. This is universal, not specific to Thailand. Most businesses eke out a living in low season and have to make up for it in high season.

A lady selling whole water melons has just bumped her prices up from 15\20\25 to suddenly 25\30\35, i reckon it's because I've just started using her and so she wants more out of falang. Prices were 15\20\25 for weeks since i noticed the place

Are you sure it isn't seasonal? Prices of fruit and vegetables fluctuate with glut or scarcity.

If it is any consolation, the price for a 16-pack of bottled drinking water went from 49 baht to 100 baht in one day...????

How do I get some? That must be some great water...

I'm not sure but just a coincidence she just increases the prices. Dual pricing is alive and well in Thailand so i wouldn't be surprised

Well its not happening here in Pattaya. Quite a few gogo bars buy 1 get one free before 9pm. Others have certain days of the week where its happy hour all night.

There is no high season anymore, but it's going to take them a while to figure it out. ????

Have a great day

where ?

1.5 L bottles for a 6pack were always around 40-49 so 2x = 80-98 baht

falang / thai - loyalty??   no such thing, unknown, does not exist...
