Accident Land Rover Drives Wrong Way, Collides with Mercedes on Expressway
Pictures courtesy of Thai Rath BANGKOK—A Land Rover drove the wrong way on the Chalong Rat Expressway, crashing head-on into a Mercedes. The collision left both vehicles severely damaged and overturned, and both drivers were injured. Police are examining CCTV footage to investigate further. At 6:00 AM on 3rd July, authorities responded to a report of a two-car collision on the Chalong Rat Expressway near Soi Chatuchot, Bangkok. The accident involved a grey Mercedes A250, driven by 22-year-old Saksit Thongmee, and a white Land Rover driven by 26-year-old Rinyaphat Chatrassameepak. Saksit sustained severe injuries and was trapped in his car, while Rinyaphat suffered a fractured right leg and facial wounds. Both were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Initial investigations suggest Rinyaphat inadvertently drove the wrong way onto the motorway, possibly entering from Kanchanaphisek Road or Chatuchot Soi, believing it was a toll gate entrance. The Mercedes, travelling correctly, collided head-on with the Land Rover. Emergency services quickly cleared the scene, and police continue to review CCTV and will interview the drivers to conclude the investigation. Reports indicate Rinyaphat works at an electric car company on Pradit Manutham Road, whereas Saksit is employed at a car modification business. Adapted by ASEAN Now from Thai Rath 2025-07-04 -

My view today.
Didn't think anyone actually really eats any of that disgusting, fake, processed mayonnaise that they use in Thailand in lieu of salad dressing. Typical cheap Thai looking Western meal. Small piece of useless meat and most of the meal is mainly fries and a piece of bread. -

Crime Two Myanmar Men Stab Each Other to Death in Phuket Over Love Rivalry
Picture courtesy of Khaosod. A romantic dispute between two Myanmar migrant workers ended in tragedy when both men fatally stabbed each other during a violent altercation in Phuket late on 2 July. The confrontation, reportedly sparked by their affection for the same woman, escalated beyond control after a failed attempt to resolve the issue peacefully. The incident occurred around 22:45, near the entrance of a hotel staff dormitory on Patak Road in Karon subdistrict, just 50 metres from Karon Police Station. Officers from Karon Police Station responded after being alerted by the emergency radio centre. Upon arrival, they found two seriously injured men, both of Myanmar nationality, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Rescue personnel rushed both men to Chalong Hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries. A witness at the scene told police that the confrontation was between two colleagues — Mr. Phiang and Mr. Mintun — who both worked and lived at the hotel staff dormitory. The men had arranged to meet that night in an attempt to settle a dispute involving a mutual romantic interest. However, the discussion soon turned heated, culminating in both men drawing knives and attacking one another. By the time help arrived, both men had suffered severe injuries and were bleeding heavily. Despite medical efforts, neither could be saved. On the morning of July 3, reporters visiting the scene observed traces of blood still visible at the site. Relatives of the deceased had come to perform a traditional memorial, laying offerings of food, milk, and incense at the spot where the tragic fight occurred. Police Colonel Wiwat Chamnankit, acting superintendent of Karon Police Station, confirmed the incident involved two Burmese migrant workers who engaged in a fatal knife fight following an unresolved romantic dispute. He stated that both men used long, sharp knives in the altercation, and while there were no other suspects involved, the case would be formally closed pending a full report. The tragedy underscores the challenges faced by migrant communities dealing with personal conflicts far from home and highlights the emotional toll such disputes can take when support systems are lacking.
