Three members of a gang forging American $100 bills have been arrested.

Two of the gang were caught after attempting to exchange fake bills at a booth belonging to TT Currency Exchange whose head office is on Sai 2 in Pattaya.

Khwanrithai, 37, and Sangwan, 51 were found in possession of 398 counterfeit bills worth 1,200,000 baht.

They were arrested in a joint tourist police and regular police operation after attempting to flee on Thursday, said Thailand's tourist police chief Pol Lt-Gen Chettha Komonwattana on Sunday.

Phones also taken into evidence showed contact with each other on Line and led to the arrest of 55 year old Thanakrit in Bangkok.

Exchange booth manageress Kaneungnak told Naew Na that the forgeries were easily spotted as they felt shiny to the touch when compared to real US dollar bills.

She warned business people and the public to watch out for fakes.

It does seem strange to put 3 chairs out knowing the Invisible one has been arrested in Bangkok.  The Magnificent Seven enjoying this photo-op can no longer work 'undercover' after this mugshot has appeared in the press.

You can't possibly remember all the undercover faces.

nit pick Monday for me: "... found in possession of 398 counterfeit bills worth 1,200,000 baht."

No, face value of 1,200,000 baht. All this fake money is good for is a trip to prison. What's that worth?
