Grenada, a famous West Indian island, is home to a population of 107,825 spirited and prideful islanders. Traditionally nicknamed the Spice Island, notably due to its numerous nutmeg and mace crop plantations, Grenada was originally a French colony, and then it was ceded to the British under the Treaty of Paris in 1763. Grenada gained independence in 1974.
