I think your idea is towards getting a legitimate winner, but i enjoy the process. every year the POTY generates many thousands of posts. That has got to be good for the forum.

The "process" can still be there in panel selection and nominees etc.

It could be a good mix of both.

I think the last one worked relatively well without having to pick from groups like previous contests.

We could have a humorous round, where laughs are counted ....

If "likes" were included the past winners would not have won...
