Unfortunately most Americans are too ingrown to see it & too late once a fully fledged war starts

along with the misery any war brings

Actually, a war would severely affect the election. Where do you get this notion from?

It's bizarre how Trump supporters ignore the fact that not only did the US withdraw from the nuclear agreement, but that it is waging an aggressive economic war on Iran. That's a far, far more serious

This is nothing more than the same game that Bush and Ahmadinejad (last Iran's president) played. Fast boats passed by American ships and oil price plunged due to insecurity. It is all about oil and weapons market in the region. Even Saddam had no chemicals, but he was a renegade regarding oil.

There will be no war and the real threat planner has eliminated.

The game continues over oil and weapons sell.

Perhaps we will vote you for next US presidency since you have a "true" vision.

Ultimately, Trump will not do anything that threatens his precious stock markets. If that means backing off Iran, even waving a white flag, he'll do it. Just like when he surrendered on the trade "deal" with China.

Since you think it is not a deflection, please let me know how 'Europeans being able to name USA capitols', and that spelling is not mine, is relevant to a thread about Americans being critical of Trump's Iran policy. And while we're at it, maybe you can also explain why the colonial history of my country is relevant to that.

I did not post anything about geography. Perhaps you should pay more attention.

Why is European history of conquest rape pillaging and enslaving populations relevant to your slagging off Americans? If you want to continue the Virtue signaling based on where you are from or what your ideology is, it is a relevant fact.

This crisis also draws peoples attention away from the impeachment hearings.

Trump has reversed on just about every issue he campaigned on. You expected this to be any different?

zydeco,

As a anti-Trumper you are a prime example.  Never let the facts dissuade you from making up fake assertions.

These were the 10 issues Trump campaigned on.  Which ones did he reverse on?

1. ‘Build a wall’ — and make Mexico pay for it.

A wall is being built, and more would be done if not for Democrats blocking it.

2. Temporarily ban Muslims from entering the United States

Accomplished

3. ‘Bring manufacturing (jobs) back’

Accomplished

4. Impose tariffs on goods made in China and Mexico

Accomplished

5. Renegotiate or withdraw from the North American Free Trade Agreement and Trans-Pacific Partnership

Accomplished

6. ‘Full repeal of Obamacare’ and replace it with a market-based alternative

A significant amount repealed and it would have been completely done if not for the traitor John McCain stabbing him in the back

7. Renegotiate the Iran deal

Trump already has repudiated the agreement

8. Leave Social Security as is

No changes to Social Security

9. Cut taxes

Accomplished

10. Curb illegal immigration and go to a merit based system.

Trump has put more border agents, and attempted to deport even more but has been twarted by Democrats.  The same is true of changing to a merit based system.

I am from the USA and I would say a war would deeply hurt Trump.  Americans are increasingly sick of spending trillions of dollars and losing thousands of American lives.  Bush involved us with Iraq and Afghanistan 19 years ago, and we are still there.  America is sick of never ending wars and the millions of refugees that come with them.

Yes nonsense. I fully agree that the wars started were never going to solve any of the problems these countries had and still have. But to say that we are responsible for the majority of the world's problems is ridiculous.

Here is just an example (of course you may say this also is nonsense! Article

Yes, ignorance is quite a sad thing to watch.

If prices rise too much it will likely induce a global economic crisis and the US economy is not isolated from the rest of the world.

The economy has already been shaken by the tariffs war and does not need an oil crisis.

Because the price of oil in American won't jump up if it does so in the rest of the world? When has that ever happened?

What Americans does this Thai liberal publication refer? This American thinks that this terrorist General who was surgically taken out before any American deaths could occur was a great idea. Hed was in a meeting in Iraq to plain such an attack. Why doesnt this internet publication mention their are people in Iraq and Iran dancing in the streets because of this guys death. All you see are the people mourning in Iran, ever think these people could be under duress or part of the Iranian upper class. Lets get the real story from the man or woman on the stret away from this phoney wake and see what they have to say! Many deaths in Iran and worldwide at the hands of this general, he was no humanitarian. What do Iranians in Thailand think about this guys death I believe Thailand has a large Iranian community. Rest in pieces general!

“Terrorist” General?

Can you explain why you use the word “terrorist”?

I thought he was deeply involved in contra-terrorism against latest franchise of AQ and/or IS in the region (Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen).

Shall we strike French General Villepin in Another country with a drone like a “terrorist” due to the sometimes aggressive movement of the Gillets Jaunes?

Iranian Embassy/Consulate in Kerbala was burned lately by radical militants. That’s why Suleymani was in Iraq. Shia population from Iraq can only count on Iranian external military aid to protect their Holy City of Kerbala.

Really? I would bet that you are wrong. How many Americans have been to the Middle East? How many of their family members have kept track of where they are or where they have been? My guess is way more than most other countries. You are forgetting the hundreds of thousands of military and civilian contractors.

Maybe Trump really did have a plan?

The Only Winner of the U.S.-Iran Showdown Is Russia

Iraq could soon expel U.S. forces from the country in response. With no troops in Iraq, the United States will find it hard to sustain a presence in Syria. That void would create more maneuverability for Moscow in the region—essentially, cementing its position as a regional power broker.

And maybe China

Had to be done and previous presidents bar none would have done the same thing (probably sooner). Folk of today (cue SJWs) are just more critical if you tread on someone's cat. Trouble with Trump is he lets himself down a little bit when he opens his mouth.

I think you're the first person outside of (suppressed) Iran I've seen defending that animal Soleimani. Well, apart from Jeremy Corbyn that is...

IMO the only thing that would lose Trump the election is Americans coming back in body bags.

Apparently the bankers have been trying to repeat the sort of funny money policies that caused 2007/8 so another world wide economic disaster may happen with or without a war, oil price rises etc.

BTW won't more expensive oil make the greenies happy? They want less oil used.
