Word, Office place indicator setting

Strange thing on my Asus laptop using Office 2003, the indicator on a Word document does not appear.

 

The dot that shows you where you are on the page, appears as a tiny little dot,  hard to see.

 

It is strange that this only happens on an Asus laptop, no where else?

Any clues on how to fix this, it makes using Word difficult.
