Police in Loei have charged a 41 year old woman with negligence after she performed an unexpected U-turn that caused a collision with a 12 year old boy on a motorcycle.

The boy was taken to hospital in Udon Thani but is now recovering and is out of hospital.

Police said that Amornrat was behind the wheel of a Mazda 3 and was returning the vehicle to a friend after having it cleaned. She went past her turning and was going back when the collision with the Honda Wave occurred.

She will have to pay compensation for the boy's medical treatment and has also been charged with negligent driving.

The incident was caught on video and happened at Phra Yai in the Tha Lee area of Loei in Thailand's north east.

It was posted on the Facebook page of Panuwat Klakhangphlu.

The woman is an idiot who simply shouldn't be driving if that is how much attention she pays to what is going on around her. It also shows perfectly though the reason why kids should not be riding mot

The woman is an idiot who simply shouldn't be driving if that is how much attention she pays to what is going on around her. It also shows perfectly though the reason why kids should not be riding motorbikes. They simply do not have the understanding and awareness of the craziness that occurs out there and are not prepared to react quickly enough to avoid such danger.

No rare mirrors or brain failure? Wait, i see the car has rare mirrors, so it has to be brain failure. Total surprise....

What <deleted> ??? a 12 year old on a motorcycle !!! who’s to blame for that?

Wasn’t it announced recently that parents are responsible if their children are hurt when ‘under age riding’

(Paraphrased from Parents are Guilty of Murder if their underage children die when riding a motorcycle).

And that driver? That is a perfect example of someone who should never be allowed anywhere near a car.

How many times do we see these stupid, idiotic, brainless manoeuvres by the absolutely brain dead who don’t even look first ????

Car 100% at fault, but again, <deleted> is a child doing riding a motorcycle? (ok, we know the answer, parents, society  and law enforcement don’t care).

Checking before you take an action is just not in Thai DNA.

Even worse, our loudmouth crazy old 'auntie' says it's not necessary to check and it takes too much time.

She's caused several accidents because she refuses to check and has told cops 'I don't agree with having laws about anything, it's up to me, and if other people get injured it's just bad luck and their own fault for having bad karma'.

If she was trying to make a u-turn, shouldn't she turn the steering wheel a bit more?

You'll never change their mentality. My wife reversed out of the house today straight into my car parked along side the road. No apology just "You shouldn't park your car on the road" and drove off. Should be fun when she gets home......

what a stupid driver .....   it could have been fatal for the young boy should he hit a tree or similar.

Parents of the boy should be called in and charged along with the driver.

500 baht & a 'wai' each ...

In fairness she didn't see the tree either????

Brain failure followed by brake failure...

............returning the vehicle to a friend after having it cleaned.   I hope she tells the friend how the dents came to be in the nice clean car.

And that my friends is Thailand in a nutshell.

Now it needs a lot more than a cleaning.

Why? The boy was ok. Did nothing wrong. Maybe even wear a helmet?! So what?

Are you serious?

He is 12 years old, probably not wearing a helmet, riding a motorbike on a main road.  OK, no problem then.

True, and I could, but won't share numerous other incidents with this nightmare woman. Part of the story is that other family members won't travel in her car when she's the driver and my son refuses to take her in his van.

It almost seemed like she waited to ambush him. ????

The legal driving age for a motorbike in Thailand is 15. That kid should not have been driving. I'd blame his parents for that accident and charge them along with the car driving idiot.

What a dumbass

and also, still managed to drive into a tree. No control over her driving whatsoever. Amazing! ????

rear vision mirror is for looking at face to squeeze pimples. No one explained to her when she bought the car what car indicator lever was for.  I am serious when we bought the Toyota Rocco I had to get the salesman to explain how the switch for 2 wheel, 4 wheel drive works, no one can explain to me how to change the information screen from Thai to English. they had no idea how cruise control works and so on. Oh yes the manual was in that world language, Thai.

Is that an answer to make us laugh ... yellow?

At 12 years old on a motorbike so without a driving license and according to the video he was going fast.

Generally, in any case in a civilized country, which is not the case of Thailand,

without driving license = without insurance
