PHUKET: The Phuket office of the Department of Livestock Development (DLD) has issued a formal warning to an elephant camp in Rawai following photo evidence surfacing over the elephant being overly restrained by chains while in its infancy.

Ban all these so-called camps.

Blatant animal cruelty.

Asians in general are particularly cruel to animals.....Thais are very very cruel to elephants!

Elephants belong to the forest and shall roam free over there !

What forests would those be? The plains of Isaan perhaps. Given half a chance Thai entrepreneurs would cut down every last tree in the country.

Reported in the UK Daily Mirror a few days ago.
