What I say is common sense. But I have no problem with your desire to file a nil tax return, because the law says you have to due to exceeding the assessable income threshold. There's no "winner take all" with this discussion. The reader can see both sides of the argument, then decide to do whatever they're most comfortable with. -

No travel insurance for me !
I've made a few insurance claims in my life. Some were paid, others rejected. The one that got paid easiest was a critical health policy claim. The ones that were rejected or made impossible to pursue were holiday insurance policies. Good example - my suitcase was lost by an airline. The insurance company refused to pay unless I could provide an original receipt for every item contained in it. Air Asia ram their insurance in your face every time you try to book a flight. I accidentally bought it on a flight last year (it tends to be 'selected' by default and you have to actually 'cancel' to refuse it). Anyhow, it included a payment if your flight is delayed by more than 'X' hours. My flight was indeed delayed by more than 'X' hours. They refused my claim saying it wasn't covered because I 'didn't suffer any loss'. Just remember ALWAYS CANCEL the Air Asia insurance (and probably ALL airline insurance for that matter). -

Anyone have or tried the mini computers ?
Two monitors are substandard. I need 4 monitors. Also, when I think about these small mini computers, I always first think RASBERRY PI. And, no doubt you recall the Apple Power Cube, put out about 25 years ago? I always liked the idea of that. And, I had a friend who was a graphics designer who relied on one for his business. I really like the idea of this power cube, or something that fits in a cube. I think it would be really good for someone who travels, and wants to set up a personal computer system in a hotel, or some other place, for a few weeks....before moving on again to a new temporary place. -

Reminds me of someone who I knew who contracted a STD from bar girl and the hospital he went to told him to inform all his recent sexual partners about him having n STD and for them to get tested as well . He told the bargirl that he had an STD and that she should get tested fir it as well . She said that she didn't have to to to the hospital because she already went a few weeks ago and is already receiving treatment for it -

Urgent Request for Information re Death of British Citizen in Thailand
Thanks. The father, George, has never been married to the mother. As George has resided in Thailand for 33 years with only one or two return visits back to the UK I would say it's safe to assume that all of his assets, other than his £11,000 pension, are located in Thailand. Which then, I assume, can be handled here according to Thai law. I'm only making educated assumptions at this point but I'll soon find out. -

Because he reported on a meeting with a Brit, this was not an election issue. It was not a reputation issue for him. That account is obviously the truth. They do not lie 100 per cent of the time.
