I'm seriously contemplating building one of those yank type bunkers they have underground.

Stock it with baked beans and plenty of water.

I don't want to live in a post apoclyptic world. A post apoclyptic World may be good for young people only. May be it's a culling and olds will die to pave for a new World with young people only.

There's a significant addition to greenhouse gasses right there. At least you'll be alone.

It was just a matter of time before the earth fought back against over population, unchecked demand for natural resources, and over consumption...

Maybe we should learn to be more responsible stewards of our planet...

From the earth's point of view...thinning the world of human leaches is a positive...

Agree...you go first!

OP is right - there are many benefits from the new panic.

EG: it's weeks now since anyone heard from little Greta Thunberg.

Let's have more suggestions for why The Virus might be a Good Thing.

Do we really need more suggestions. Yours is good enough for me.

No more needed. Greta shutting her gob is enough. But give her time there will be a tenuous link somewhere.

Earth fights back? Earth's point of view? Wow.

Next you will be telling me about the dice whispering to you at the craps table.

Humans are morons, and morons take it on the chin.

You think this is a zombie apocalypse situation or a terminator thing happening? Bad news...its not. You're dreams of Mad Max will never happen. Not until AI hits its stride anyway.

maybe from the earth perspective, but certainly not from any of earth many species,

that are entirely dependent on plants or photosynthetic plankton that require

a bare minimum of co2 to live at all.

the atmosphere has been losing 37.000 ton of co2 every year for hundreds of millions

of years in a row, and we are now at a tipping point of rock bottom levels of co2.

at the depth of the last glacial period, it hit a record low of 180 ppm,

and 150 ppm is the point where plants die.

out of all species, only humans are capable of replenishing co2 back

to atmosphere to maintain complex life.

the leaches are the corals and other shell building organisms in the sea

that uses co2 as a building block for their shells,

and notably they take those shells with them into their grave,

this co2 never gets composed and recycled, it just turns into stone,

and that is why the depletion goes on without human interference,

and inevitably spell extinction of all species

There's no fighting just random evolution in a cosmic soup throwing up a nasty for humans relatively speaking. All emotions are our own.

Currently circulating on the web a video explaining how the Covid-19 appeared.
This video is in French.( I do not put it because the only language of this forum is English )
In this video there is the link to a PDF which is in three languages, mostly  French and German and English.
It is very complicated for most of us with specific terms,
In short, we are told that this Covid-19 was created in Wuhan in a laboratory co-financed by China and France;
laboratory created in 2003 by the Pasteur Institute;
And we are told that this is once again something not for making money but so that only those who can afford it can be treated properly.
in other words, what we all fear is already there; way to reduce the world's population.

Virus originated in the BSL-4 lab in Wuhan.

Regardless of actual validity, the environmental stuff was being used as a control mechanism, in much the same that wars have always been used to force populations into compliance and to justify ever-increasing taxes.

Now this long-expected virus has finally emerged. It happens to be a far more effective control mechanism, and, so, has superseded the environmental stuff for now.
