gasoline / petrol

Featured Replies

Wife mentioned this morning that 91 octane gasoline will be unavailable  soon, anyone hear of this?

a good rumour - Not to spread?

91 was going to disappear anyway wasn't it?

Interesting point for all fuels ..will supply be maintained from processing all the way to the pumps..??

French supermarket Casino pizzas stocked by Big C don't seem to be available over the past days !!

NO RUMOUR

the phase out of 91 (replaced by E20) was announced in 2016, started in 2018 and did speed up in 2019.

Gasohol 95 is to stay for the time being.

The Gov want all Gas to be of the E type as it reduces the amount of gasoline/oil imported.

The Ethanol comes from Corn grown in Thailand saves massive on $ exchange.

This was covered by the Paper from CM uni which one of the moderators publish some years back.

If I take your words strictly, "gasoline" could stand for fuel without ethanol?

And that type of 91 octane was abolished years ago (the "red" 91 at PTT).

And as already mentioned the "gasohol 91" (with 10% ethanol) will be phased out this year.

PTT stated that it will happen 3rd quarter.

Gasohol 95 can be used as a replacement without problems and price difference has become marginal.

E type who cares as long as our many different vehicles can take it with no problem. There will be no petrol/gas problems as cheap in the world and Thai do not have a lot of baht to put into their tanks at this moment. But it should be cheaper and still not a problem to get. The oil and gas companies have deep pockets.
