Just death by coronavirus. Do you think Italy has said what the underlying heath issues of each of the 6077 covid19 deaths was? It may be statistically important and prudent to mention that diabeties and lung disease will put you at higher risk of being critical or dying but it is not necessary or newsworthy to tag it on to everyone who dies from this. Just my opinion. Im just going by what I have seen and since it has started underlying health issues have been tagged as putting people at higher risk and that ive seen in reports from everywhere not just Thailand. I am saying this because we had a guy in our village who was tested positive and as soon as the top brass got wind of it, it was all over the village that a 2nd test was carried out and he was negative, his family is under house quarantine and he was taken away, now why was he taken away is he tested negative and why did the top brass waste their time on him if he wasn't positive, also heard from good sources two people died in a nearby hospital, bodies removed by men in those white gowns, e.g. Thai's usually collect the bodies of their deceased. I don't believe a word this government is saying, the only reason the numbers are coming out now, because they know that the numbers are bursting at the seams. Israel 1071 cases 1 death, Czech 1165 cases 1 death, Malaysia 1306 cases 11 deaths, Australia 1709 cases 7 deaths, Norway 2132 cases 7 deaths, are they making the numbers up too? Which it isn't, or anything like it. Face is the one thing which will destroy Thailand in that is affects the actions and reactions of most if not all Thais. Sorry to be gloomy, but Thais are about to get an understanding of what being a 3rd-word citizen of a 3rd-world country with a 3rd-world culture, actually means in everyday terms. There is no help coming, other countries have their own interests in focus, nobody cares about Thailand or Thais, and there is no celestial being coming on a white chariot to rescue Thais from themselves; what Thais have been told about their hagiography is BS, and the only reason they've been told it in the first place is so the poor, unintelligent and uneducated souls will simply do as they're told. It isn't as if they haven't had warnings, people here from the 1st world have been talking about it for years. Nobody in their right mind would wish ill on anyone else, but to be honest, if you have a stove at home and one of the plates is hot and the people at home just cannot help themselves, and go put their hand on the hot plate, then it's likely that sooner or later, people will stop warning them, and they will have to learn about sensible behaviour for themselves. I for one, have stopped trying to advise family and friends about the actions of Thais, there just isn't any real point in it. Thais think they already know best, they're just not interested in learning - especially not from a foreigner. Brilliant! My feelings exactly and what I've been saying for years - ever since I first had it said to me, more than 20 years ago . . . "what you do here is no good, it is farang way, not Thai way". (At that time it it was re-siting an irrigation pump upstream, and not downstream, where the water had to be pumped uphill . . . but the loss of face (and lack of common sense) was iconic . . .) 3

JimLuce
So just to confirm “The country now has 827 cases and 4 fatalities since the outbreak began.” so only 4 known fatalities since this started? It's possible, perhaps even probable, that there are some people in Thailand (including in the government) who value truth for its own sake, but in my view, it's a very small percentage people who are smart enough to the stand above the prevailing culture. Thai culture, apart from not valuing truth, is extremely intolerant of people who do no people who do not comply with the Borg, and who wish to follow their conscience. Thai culture is a group game, not an individual game, and people that do not comply are quickly ostracised or otherwise punished for the impertinence (or, more accurately the impudence thinking they're better than other Thais). Like forest animals in a forest clearing, they were always equate what is culturally familiar, with what is safe. sounds like China

Even if you chooses to believe 70,000 that is 0.001 of the total pop and but 2 people have died. But govt, official doctors, leaders, and half the pop is crying the need to further shut down the country effectively applying martial law. Bankruptcies, loss of jobs, loss of incomes, and mass fear will most certainly drive the country into a bad depression and all the misery and deaths that come with it. All because 0.001 of the population is wildly "guessed" at having WuFlu, or if you believe the govt, then it's 0.00001 of 70,000,000 people, and 2 people died. The government has shot themselves in BOTH feet, and they are cocking the hammer and taking aim at their head. Sad that most people can't wake up. Your using the racist and juvenile term "WuFlu" rather than the universally accepted medical term COVID19 erases all of your credibility as a human being. I would trust a 5 year old's math before I would trust yours. Your fearmongering is despicable. Would you do us all a favor and self quarantine from any further posts here?
