Popular Post snoop1130
Netizens look to uncover those responsible for spreading virus By The Nation Netizens are looking for the people responsible for spreading Covid-19 at a boxing stadium in Bangkok as the number of coronavirus cases rose to 827 today (March 24). Several Internet users started demanding accountability from the Army after they learned the boxing ring was run by the Royal Thai Army. On March 3, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha ordered that every public gathering location such as sports stadiums should be closed, but on March 4 the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium under the management of the Army was still open. The stadium was sanitised on March 5 and despite the PM’s order, organisers still went ahead and held a competition on March 6 – the beginning of another round of Covid-19 spreading. As of now, 103 visitors to the stadium have been infected with the coronavirus and there is a possibility that the number will soon increase. Popular Post OneMoreFarang
What is the point of this stupid blame game? If people are sick and they still walk around and infect others then we can blame them. But there must be many, the majority, who don't have any health issues. They feel fine, they have no temperature and no sneezing and nothing. Should we really blame all these people that they dared be in contact with others people while they had no symptoms at all? I think it's time that we are in different times. Almost anybody we see might have the virus. And most likely the person does not know it. Should we blame them all? What next? Punish them? Execute them because they didn't know? Get real, relax, we will all die. Some of us sooner and others later. Protect yourself and behave like a responsible person. But if you still catch the virus accept life and don't try to find someone to blame. 3 1 3

But uncover often ends up in blaming people. And if individual people are blamed, i.e. a person who knew he was sick but still spread the virus, then I have no problem with pointing that out. But IMHO too many people blame "the Chinese" or other groups of people. And that is IMHO the kind of stupid blame game we should avoid because it does not help anybody.

Perhaps the word "uncover" would best replaced with "report"to avoid the risk of vigilante' style inquisitions ? In fact that is the word used in a information sheet being distributed around our village this morning outlining expected activity related to movement/travel and specifically asking the arrival of people from outside the province to be reported.

Typical. Now you'll see people infected at bars blaming their waterholes for remaining open despite Prayuth ordering them closed. If you knew the darn thing should be closed, why did you go in there? I guess it's also going to be the fault of whoever owns the beach in Patong for thousands of people to come out at night to socialise and drink, although they knew well they should distance themselves but... hey, the beach was open, there were many people there, let's party! 1 1

Dogmatix
The army owns the boxing stadium and the commander declined to follow the order to close it. Added to the preventable mass shooting in Korat people might be wondering about the protection they get from the army. 1
Caldera
"Several Internet users started demanding accountability from the Army after they learned the boxing ring was run by the Royal Thai Army." That they just learned this goes to show how well informed (not) the public here generally is. Sad.
