Like I used to have back in the 1990s, 90 day visa exempt entries. Just go to the border and return for another 90 days. repeat as often as wanted. Shame when they stopped that.

Also, those on retirement extensions only have to pay the fee to extend once a year, and no BS documentation made up to make it difficult. Just proof of funds in bank. Hotel would notify immigration every 90 days that they were still living there- no need for 90 day BS.

I did too when first arriving in Thailand and was basically looking around to make a decision. But at some point economics forces ones hand....I might stay long term in a 5 star hotel if I had a lot more cash!

At one point back in the days an agency took your passport to the border over night, you didn't even have to go yourself.

You could get a free pick up and room at the gaol later too.
