PHUKET:-- A Rawai resort owner has been charged for accepting a new guest, in violation of the provincial order for all hotels to cease accepting new guests, and to close once the last guest has checked out.

The order was issued last week to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Government-owned hotels being used “field hospitals” or those providing accommodation for persons under observation or for other government-authorised purposes are exempt from the order.

Maybe harsh but it is what it is... no more new guests.

So people who need accommodation, where do they go?

To one of the 5 allocated hotels.

Was thinking of going there myself, 850 Baht per room 3 meals per day included sounds like an excellent deal.

They seem to like stings here so maybe the new guest was a falang working with the police, probably wanted to get the hotel due to not paying bungs.......

obviously only guessing

A bit off topic but, What happens to long distance delivery drivers who can't get home before curfew, where are they supposed to stay if all hotels can't have new guests.

They can move around but have to get permission from the company with a signed letter and lots of them trucks have sleeper cabs
