April 10, 20205 yr Popular Post Now that's a checkpoint! Thou Shalt Not Enter Trat! Picture: 77kaoded The authorities in Trat in eastern Thailand soon got wise to some pick-ups circumventing the ban on entering the province. Many were carrying migrant workers and were not allowed. Motorists were sneaking past the Tha Jort checkpoint on the main road by using a shortcut through the Ban Khao Cha-om area. So a small warning sign was put up. And further down the road comes the real reason why you shall not pass. They have tipped a huge pile of earth. If you have a backhoe you may be able to pass - but that is about it! Apparently the locals agree with this. Picture: 77kaoded As of yesterday there were no reported cases of coronavirus in Trat that lies between Chanthaburi and the Cambodian border. Many foreigners are hunkering down on the holiday island of Koh Chang that lies within Trat. As you say a good idea but not sure how long it will last.
