Thai man arrested for licking bridge

A Thai woman in Chiang Mai whipped out her mobile phone while she was stopped in traffic on a bridge in the Saraphi area. 

 

Her short footage was soon scaring everyone!

 

She could hardly believe it as a man - bare chested in shorts and riding a bicycle - started licking the railings of the bridge.

 

The bicycle had a paper sign with the writing in Thai: "Got Covid-19".

 

"Mayple" (an assumed name) spoke to Daily News later saying how disgusted she was especially in these virus times. Anyone could have put their hands on those railings, sha said.

 

National police spokesman Pol Col Krissana Patacharoen said that the man was well known locally. He is insane and keeps ducks. 

 

He has been doing a bunch of nutty things for ten years and more.

 

The local authorities have had a word and wiped down the bridge.

On one Thai news channel they said he had a foreign sounding surname but was in fact Thai !

I thought 'licking the bridge' was a new Thai euphemism for the unmentionable.
