The way China attacks whistle blowers in China who were attempting to release information on corona virus and on the Wuhan lab’s lax protocols.

There has been “ ... a cynical and orchestrated campaign by the Chinese regime to stop the country’s 1.4 billion citizens even discussing the appalling Covid-19 outbreak among themselves.

We have discovered that:

More than 5,100 people were arrested for sharing information in the first weeks of the outbreak;

Dissidents are being labelled as sick so the government can place them in medical quarantine;

Health apps used by tens of millions to show they are clear of coronavirus are being used to monitor people’s movements and further tighten control.”

I think this kind of clamp down is what's responsible for much of the loss of 21 million mobile subscribers.

I don't usually go for conspiracy theories, but as part of my job I subscribe to The Lancet (only understand 5% of the articles, but peer reviewed, non political reports written by some serious boffins can be useful) and in January there was a report from a group of doctors working in China who said the the first confirmed cases in early December had no known connection to the Wuhan wet market.

I think the wildlife trade in China and other countries is a disgrace, but it looks the wetmarket was a secondary hub, and not the source.

problem is not the safety measures in this or that lab.

accidents happan, we all dropped a test tube with bat blood here and there

during high school.

the problem is that CHINA ALLOWED INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS FROM THE INFECTED AREA,

while blocking it to internal flights and travel within china !!

now why china did it?

some experts say that china did it to level down the global playing field.

china realised that it is being hit hard by the virus, so wanted

to see the whole world going down with it, so they wont stay behind.

from my experience, this indeed suits the chinese character.

Here is wisdom.

Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a MAN; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

This is the second part of an article from the Daily Mail, started in post #26 on page 2 of this thread above.

This second article:

“The tragedy of China’s actions is highlighted by an as-yet-unpublished report led by Dr Shengjie Lai, a researcher in infectious disease dynamics at Southampton University.”

The study used a highly sophisticated mathematical model of coronavirus’s spread to show that if China had introduced lockdown measures three weeks earlier, cases could have been reduced by 95 per cent — significantly limiting the Covid-19’s spread and its ensuing global death toll.

We have set out events in chronological order as they are thought to have happened, rather than when they became known publicly. Thanks to the obfuscation, ignorance or self-deception of the Chinese authorities, much of the information reported so far leaked out only long after the event.“

This thread has been accusing the Chinese lab in Wuhan of sloppy protocols which resulted in an escape of the virus into the town and beyond.

it would seem however that in the US, “ ... sloppy laboratory practices at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention caused contamination that rendered the nation’s first coronavirus tests ineffective”

“Problems ranged from researchers entering and exiting the coronavirus laboratories without changing their coats, to test ingredients being assembled in the same room where researchers were working on positive coronavirus samples, officials said. Those practices made the tests sent to public health labs unusable because they were contaminated with the coronavirus, and produced some inconclusive results.”

Yes, this is true but to understand it, you need to bypass the usual MSM who skip, makeup, and blur facts to make a hit piece. This was a manufacturing problem, not what MSM eludes it to be. Here is a more professional article.

oh! ... and Batwoman (Shi Zenghli) makes another appearance!

“In the article from in January, 2019, Shi Zenghli and her the team highlighted the likelihood of another coronavirus epidemic in China by analysing three large-scale outbreaks caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), and Swine Acute Diarrhea Syndrome (SADS) respectively.

'Therefore, the investigation of bat coronaviruses becomes an urgent issue for the detection of early warning signs, which in turn minimizes the impact of such future outbreaks in China.”

This is the third part of an article from the Daily Mail, started in post #26 on page 2 of this thread above and #39 on page three of this thread above.

The first two threads looked at the Wuhan lab’s sloppy behaviour and China’s attempts to silence whistle blowers about the lab’s mistakes.

This third part looks more broadly at China’s economic future and the likelihood of it becoming the dominant world power.

“The West has been dealing with a regime utterly unworthy of trust. It is naïve to think it could lead China to democracy. And this virus is the most painful of lessons.'”

By 2049, the centenary of the People’s Republic, “China will actually profit — financially and in extending its influence — from a global catastrophe that many regard to be of its own making? It is predicted that after a sharp contraction in the first quarter, the Chinese economy will 'bounce' by eight per cent in the second. Meanwhile, much of the West still in lockdown heads for economic meltdown. The stock markets have collapsed, unemployment is soaring.”

“WHO insists that 'all available evidence' suggests coronavirus came from an animal and was not created in a lab” but as we know already, the Director General of Who, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesusand is heavily influenced by top Chinese officials.

“Meanwhile Veronika Skvortsova, Russia's former health minister, refused to rule out the possibility that the virus came from a lab and called for a 'very through study'.”

“China has so far failed to identify 'patient zero' - the first person to catch the infection. Without knowing who patient zero is or how they were infected, it will be impossible to know the true source of the virus.”

So no indication that he believes the Chinese government’s claim that infection spread from bats being the wet market in Wuhan!

“China filed a patent for a drug seen as one of the best potential weapons against coronavirus the day after it confirmed human transmission of the disease.

“The revelation that it moved so fast fuels concerns about a cover-up of the pandemic when it erupted in Wuhan last year, and suggests that China’s understanding of the virus was far advanced from the impression given by its public stance.”

“The application was made by Wuhan Institute of Virology, the top-secret bio-laboratory at the centre of concerns about a possible leak of the disease from its research on bats, and the country’s Military Medicine Institute.”

Yes, you responded directly to my comment "You mean the American drug Remdesivir?" that emphasized the weirdness of China trying to patent the already patented American drug, as mentioned by the previous poster whom I quoted.

My comment had no other intended meanings.

Australia wants an independent inquiry to investigate and establish the source of the viral infection. China will resist this as they see it as an attack on its sovereignty.

“Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton also faced the wrath of Beijing when he said China needs to 'answer questions' on the virus origins after unsubstantiated reports from the US that it was grown in a lab in Wuhan and accidentally escaped.”

“China's $135billion revenge: How Beijing could 'decimate' Australia's economy as punishment for Scott Morrison's attempts to ban wet markets and push for a coronavirus inquiry.”

Hu Xijin, the editor of the state-run Global Times: “Australia is always there, making trouble. It is a bit like chewing gum stuck on the sole of China's shoes. Sometimes you have to find a stone to rub it off.'

The fact that the bat cave with SARS like corona viruses is in Yunnan, another province hundreds of km from Hubei and the only connection is the lab and batlady , tells me the easiest way it could have gotten to Wuhan would be a leak at the lab.

... a primary reason for an intermediary species between say bats and humans is minimal contact between bats and humans, but it's not necessary or preferred given sufficient contact. Here.

No place had more bat to human contact than the Wuhan labs. Especially under bat woman whose primary research for years was  to search for and investigate bats and SARS like viruses most likely to jump to humans. They said they had seen many such viruses thus justifying their research and collecting these viruses.

How could it leak? The same way nCoN2019 is leaking everywhere now, asymptomatic but infectious cases. Both the Institute of Virology and the level 2 lab just 300 meters from the food market had bats. How could it not leak? Finally, scientists are not known for a sense of safety.

Do you remember the game Cluedu (Clue)?  Answer: Bat, cave, bat-woman.

Today I checked the topography in Yunnan and Hubei. Yunnan is a mountainous area, that's why they got the bat caves. Hubei seems to be plains, especially around Wuhan. Not many bat caves around there.

Just use Google maps and satellite view.
