This whole charade is all about shifting the blame from a woefully inept President on to the WHO.

The only thing these bizarrely long press briefings and the only thing on Trump's agenda is the November election.

The fact that they blindly took the Commies at their word, regarding the handling of the COVID crisis, shows a lot about their character.

I wouldn’t go that far and call WHO useless after all they eradicated polio, prevent the spread of Ebola, initiatives to control AIDS and stop the river blindness in Africa. Stopping funding is US loss and will soon learn to regret when WHO successfully developed a vaccine and approved the medication for treating Covid 19.

I had also been reliably informed that this guy was the best, able to cut through all sorts of stuff to get to the core of the problem and sort it out in a New York minute. How is it he can be foiled by such incompetent boobs as the WHO? Could it be that he just blames everyone and anyone when things don't go his way, and then takes all the credit any time they do? I know he was bragging a lot about the stock market, why isn't he also responsible when it tanks?

They are trying to eradicate Polio - working with Rotary and Gates - still around in 3 countries- just.

 

I think you were thinking of smallpox - which is one of their greatest achievements.

 

Lots of slightly ignorant posts - from the Trump supporters - yes he could have reconsidered the funding in the future - but not now .

WHO has eradicate the 2 polio strains and has big progress in eradicating the last strain. Small pox positively a WHO achievement. Just gave few examples for those ignorant of the usefulness of a world health Organisation and not to buy into Trump’s deceit.

but over 609.516 (as per yesterday) or 30 % are cases Trump is answering for.

Now, look at the table and think about how much warning time was wasted by the leadership of the countries that were hit after China, Italy, Spain. Each country in the top of this rank will be looking forward to an in depth discussion about what could have been done better.

Except of course in the USofA because the "the buck does NOT stop here" President knows already :
WHO and Chinese should have done a better Job.

I have no fixed opinion on the decision to defund WHO.  But I find the attached list of quotes hilarious.  I mean really?  Melinda Gates?  Mike Bloomberg?  A variety of other left leaning organizations cherry picked to echo one another?  Jeez.  Trump might be wrong to do this.  Or he might be right.  But that article and list of groups/people castigating him is clearly as political as many here are projecting Trumps actions are.

AND WHO ignored Taiwan warning them, because their 'friends' in CCP told them to not listen to them.

 

The very fact that WHO ignored Taiwan's warnings due to a political concern, shows they are not an organisation that is primarily concerned with the health of the world's people - they are managed and controlled by political hacks.

 

Same for UN and NATO and FIFA and World Cup (Football) and Olympics and most global organisations.  I hope Trump defunds them all.

OK so some of the guys involved in the pandemic response team were sent to different departments. Like homeland security.

Guess what their job was then? Pandemic response or homeland security?

Admit it. Trump screwed up. He dissolved the department who had the job of planning for and preventing a pandemic.
