Honda Wave 125i

Featured Replies

I talked to a friend of mine yesterday. He had bought a new fuel injected 125i Wave a while back. At first he loved it. Easy starts and no cold engine stalling. I asked him how he liked his Wave and he told me that apparently the dealer didn't know how to work on it. He has been having a lot of trouble and he is pretty disgusted. He said that once in a while it's like turning the key off. It simply starts to die and then it will suddenly take off again. He said it's dangerous and he is afraid to ride in any traffic.

Without looking at the bike it sound electrical. Get your friend to chech the plug lead is securely on the top of the plug and to have a look round for any loose wires. Depending on where you are look for the main Honda dealer. If no joy there Ive found some ofthe smaller back street places can sort you out in no time. Good luck!

If hes lucky it will be something simple and can get fixed at most small bike shops, but if it's anything to do with that injection system then as far as I know hes stuck with main dealers !

The bike is under warranty so right now he is looking for a bigger Honda dealer hoping they have a factory trained mechanic.

Let us know how he gets on, I wonder why all bikes are not injected now and still use carbs ? you would have a problem trying to find a modern car with a carb.
