Chachoengsao governor Raphee Phongbupphakit announced on Tuesday (April 21) that four of the eight temporary checkpoints at the provincial borders will be removed now that the Covid-19 situation in the province has been improving over the past few weeks.

The checkpoints to be removed are:

1. Outside the Nakhon Neungkhet Sub-district Administration Organisation on Highway No 34 (KM 59) in Muang district.

2. Outside the Saenphudat Police Station on Highway No 314 (KM 8 ) in Ban Pho district.

3. Outside the Phanom Sarakham District Office on Highway No 304 (KM 33) in Phanom Sarakham district, and;

4. Outside the Thung Sadao Municipality Office on Highway No 331 (KM 110) in Plaengyao district.

As of April 21, Chachoengsao has 21 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and has been under lockdown since March 23. Businesses that involve public gatherings have been closed since then and the province set up eight checkpoints to screen people entering.

Chachoengsao is among the 32 provinces that the Public Health Ministry has proposed for the lifting of some restrictions.
