webfact
Billionaires dip into deep pockets to fight Covid-19 Cr.@prayutofficial As Covid-19 infections and fatalities continue to rise across the world, many billionaires are stepping up to help ease the blow for the poorest people while also fighting back against the deadly disease. Contributions by moguls – many of them among the world’s richest – range from supporting their employees and helping the vulnerable, to procuring medical equipment for hospitals and funding vaccine research. In Thailand, wealthy tycoons have joined their fellow citizens in donating to people worst-hit by the temporary closure of businesses to curb the spread of the virus. Charoen Pokphand Group patriarch Dhanin Chearavanont, Thailand’s richest man with a net worth of US$14.1 billion (456.8 billion baht), has spent Bt100 million of that money to build a factory making 100,000 free surgical masks per day for healthcare workers. Several of Dhanin’s wealthy peers have also donated expensive medical equipment for the treatment of Covid-19 patients, particularly ventilators and negative pressure isolation rooms. Popular Post pegman
If there was much to this there would be more specifics. From what I've seen a lot of the handouts have been from small businesses. McDonalds I saw one big business that has stepped up.

Yes, you are missing the will to understand what you read. Not that I know how big this is and how much that has been donated, but one would assume that they donated money for the import or production of these equipments.

Popular Post Sydebolle
"Thailand’s richest man with a net worth of US$14.1 billion (456.8 billion baht), has spent Bt100 million" - or 0.00021891418% of his accrued fortune. I do not want to diminish the undertaking but, from a financial point of view, a small bottle of drinking water in a monthly budget costs more. It is not stated, if the masks, so kindly produced in this factory, are given away free of charge without fingerpointing, some ministers cutting ribbons and the usual rannygazoo but just as a philanthrop endeavour to the benefit of the nation. 9
Popular Post dinsdale
How about they all chip in including the govt to make covid test free then we would have a better idea of the spread. Dip into deep popckets sure but how deep. Getting Chinese just to dig into their own pockets is a miracle. Getting them to dig deep is of course fanciful. 1
