Health Ceiling Collapses at Rural Hospital After Heavy Rain Amidst Ongoing Budget Crisis
Picture courtesy of Amarin A rural hospital has suffered significant damage after its ceiling collapsed during a torrential downpour, highlighting its ongoing financial struggles and lack of government support. Photographs posted on Facebook by user Adisak Jarasmatawit show extensive damage to the ceiling of Bung Khla Hospital, located in Bung Khla subdistrict, Bueng Kan province. The damage affected several areas of the facility, including the Emergency Room, Dental Unit, and Drug Rehabilitation Ward. “This is a case of misfortune upon misfortune,” Adisak wrote in his post. “We’ve known the roof was leaking for some time and had reported it to the authorities. But repairing the entire building would require a large sum of money. Right now, the hospital doesn’t even have enough funds to pay staff salaries. Where could the money come from to fix the roof?” The ceiling collapse occurred during the night after heavy rainfall lashed the area. Fortunately, it happened on a weekend and no injuries were reported. However, hospital staff are still assessing whether any medical equipment has been damaged. Bung Khla Hospital, a small community healthcare facility, has reportedly been operating at a loss for years. Local sources say it is chronically underfunded and struggles to provide even basic services to residents in the region. “This incident could have been far worse if patients or staff had been present at the time,” said one hospital employee who asked not to be named. “We’re doing our best, but without urgent financial assistance, we fear further deterioration.” The story has sparked concern on social media and renewed calls for improved infrastructure funding for rural healthcare facilities. So far, no official response has been issued by the Ministry of Public Health. Adapted by Asean Now from Amarin 2025-07-07 -

BigC extra on klang
This is exceptional, there are old men wandering lost because they cannot find things. They are using special helpers to direct such lost customers to the soap powder. I got an impression they were going to have a large alcohol area, presuming there would soon be 24/7 sales allowed. My usual routine of going directly for what is on my list is all awry. I don't shop like a woman, feeling the obligation to see everything and peruse every single aisle. I looked for a particular cat food for 10 minutes, cat food now being mixed in with dog food... then finding what I wanted on a completely different aisle! The place is beginning to look like a USA Wallmart. My world is collapsing, as is the roof in that Mall. -

Report Parking Row Turns Ugly as Benz Driver Slaps Student in Bangkok
She might or might not have deserved some form of rebuke, accusation, whatever. She, 100% did not deserve to be slapped by a jumped up Mercedes driver. It is assault and a bullying assault at that. He wouldn't have slapped a guy like that. -

Texas Floods
The camps had the usual flash flood warnings that happen when rain is predicted. This was not the usual although they should have taken to higher ground buildings in the camp because this has happened in the past on the Guadalupe, the last time in 1987. The water rose so quickly they had little chance to get out as they were asleep when it started. What he referred to was a siren that would signal water rising in a river where it's usually very slow moving. Flash floods happen so fast in Texas because of ground conditions and feeder creeks, along with water coming down off mountains. I lived there 32 years, near this, and my children are still there, one withing a few miles of the Guadalupe River. -

USA Trump's Summer Surge: Wins at Home and Abroad Mark a Golden Moment for the President
Yeah I know he can't run himself. Problem as I see it (since I do not want the Democrats in power) is it fractures the GOP. I would prefer seeing the GOP find and run a candidate that is less bombastic and fiscally responsible in 2028. But I confess if the economy is booming by then I might hop on the MAGA train and accept that despite his personality flaws Trump is making the right moves. So many moving parts. We live in interesting times.
