Is Lumphini Park Open

Featured Replies

it has been closed for the last 3 weeks or so. The ban on public parks is due to be lifted from tomorrow, so hopefully it will be open then.

Are they allowing people to use the exercise machines (they had been roped off before the park closed in March)?
Any requirement to wear a face mask while jogging or exercising?

Just returned from a run, and it looks like the machines and park are still roped off, but the roads on the inside this am were filled with people most wearing masks. Plenty of the older folks sitting and enjoying the lake and each others company, social distancing of course..

Just went at 16.00 (Sunday). Abolutely crazy as main park entrance near Silom MRT station is shut so you have to walk along a narrow and frequently blocked footpath to the side entrance where there is of course no water to buy. Benches have been taped to allow just one person sitting, so tough luck for families wanting to sit together. And quite packed for the time of day.

On a side note, I thought many restaurants and coffee shops would be opening today for sit-down, but the ones where we asked said not for another two weeks.

On the entrance gate, there's an information the park is open 5:30 - 20:00, so it's being closed an hour earlier than it used to be.

You can enter on Wireless road northern gate.

Enter by gates 1,3,5,and7. Main gate on Rama IV/Silom was not open yesterday. Why? Maybe to stop homeless people camping out on the lawns around the statue which is outside the park walls. This area is now fenced off.
