Moonlover
First live concert I went to was a Tommy Roe/Del Shannon UK tour in 1962/63. Also featured was The Beatles! In that era I also saw The Searchers, The Animals, The Hollies and a few others that I don't recall. Lots of trad jazz artists including Acker Bilk, Kenny Ball Chris Barber, Terry Lightfoot and Monty Sunshine. And I always remember with a smile, The Back o' Town Syncopators. Later in life got to see Destiny's Child and the Moody Blues. Last concert before leaving the UK for ever was Alicia Keys

Popular Post PatchinExPat
I was an EMT-Paramedic on the Shreveport fire Dept. Later EMS supervisor, my uniform got me in many places usually on a wing of the stage and back stage. We always provided EMS for concerts, we had the Ambulances. So I saw a lot. Some were not something I would have paid for. Best.. Tina Turner, she could turn on an audience. Saw The Who long ago. George Jones, Merrill Haggard, The Silver Fox Charlie Rich Motly Crew when the drummer's cage flipped upside down. ZZ Top , wow! Joan Jett and the black hearts, she looked like a wet rat when she came off stage. I stood guard on the restroom door for her while she had a shower. Poison Rat so many metal bands I can't remember. Naomi Judd and her daughter. Loretta Lynn MC Hammer Grew up with the The Uniques rock band based in Louisiana, with Joe Stampley "Not Too Long Ago" and "All These Things" Louisiana Mafia had string of clubs in Bossier City, called The Strip right near the Texas line . Had all the usual mafia stuff going on. They could get just a ton of acts in for their clubs back in the '50s and '60s. Back when groups traveled the the circuit, basically for day money. Lots of '60s and '70's groups played the clubs. Most of the clubs were burned out for insurance money in the late '70s. And Shreveport La had the Louisiana Hayride that rivaled Nashville for being home to country singers in the '50s and '60s . Where Elvis got his start, along with many others.

Popular Post bendejo
8 minutes ago, ChipButty said: Cant believe nobodies mentioned Rod Stewart yet here goes Ok, just for you: my first show at the Fillmore East the headliner was Jeff Beck (early 1968) and his nibs was the lead singer. We were sitting in the balcony just a few rows from the edge. In the row in front us was a cute-as-all-hell gal in a miniskirt with two guys who were more interested in each other. In between songs she'd call out "hey Jeffy!" She had her feet up on the chair in front of her and when Beck looked her way she raised her skirt to show him where the party was. I was 16 and I can't recall how long it took for me to lift my jaw off the floor. I think it was about a year later that the band broke up. As it happens I was at their last show together, at the same outdoor arena where I saw Hendrix (see above post). Story was they broke up right there, Beck felt literally abandoned. Also on the bill was Vanilla Fudge, a NY area band, and they took him in, hence all those collaborations over the following years. Once in Bkk I fell in with a bunch of Scot guys for a night of drinking and pleasure pursuits, they were quite proud of their Roddie, and I had the sense to hold my tongue. 3

A true performer who put on a proper show. The set ended with "Anthem" which included a professional opera singer and mid way through the song was accompanied with a Scottish pipe band who, much to everyone's surprise, entered the hall from the back and slowly marched through the audience, the pipes getting louder and louder as they neared the stage. Absolutely magical. I saw The Sensational Alex Harvey Band at the best concert I have ever been to - The Who, live at Charlton, 1975. Alex Harvey and guitarist Zal Cleminson were awesome and a great support band for the Who. Here they are on whispering Bob's show: Worst concert - Oasis, Live in Bangkok. What a let down. Arrogant tossers.

Regrets yes! I regret walking past the Queen Margaret Union at Glasgow University one Friday night and seeing a blackboard with 'Tonight - Queen'. Never heard of them, walked on to the mens union. 2 weeks later who jumped to number 1 with 7 Seas of Rye? Any more regrets? One more - When I saw Muse at the Aberdeen Conference Centre it was standing only. I was relatively 'old' in the crowd and after the first few songs abandoned the swaying crush to the sidelines. Scary, especially when in the 70s i'd not be happy unless I was near the stage. Never been in a mosh pit thankfully, don't understand that ????
