Popular Post cubism001
Hello, things might be looking up. I've changed my ticket once, but I'll do it again. Hope this time it works. Any links? Thanks. 2
lopburi3
Return of flights does not mean unrestricted entry for anyone. At this time it is very much an unknown when/if/who/how any return of tourists will be allowed. As returning Thai are the main source of COVID cases currently opening up borders to tourists would not seem a prudent option any time soon. But on the other side is unemployment of millions so not an easy decision.
Popular Post ubonjoe
I have seen nothing new yet stating what the restriction will be in July. It is only unfounded rumors that anybody will be able to enter then.

No beach access, no bars open and no nightlife here either.... 15 1

Popular Post Okis
I don't think Thailand will allow flights of civilians in from countries that havent managed to get control over the situation. IMO that is what most countries around the world will do except maybe some EU countries. That is why i'm gonna switch from the non o multiple entry visa to a extension because nobody knows if consulates in neighbouring countries even will be open for visa applications after the amnesty is lifted and if i go back to Europe i will most likely not be able to get back in again for a very long time because my homecountry actually wants atleast 50% of the population to get infected in the delusion that it will create immunity. 5 3

Home now is a expensive <deleted> hole of a hotel. My Thai family waiting for me to get home. Thinking of another Southeast Asian country that might open its borders more early just to get out of the over rated United States. 80,000 dead and climbing. Because Trump cult members tend to think its all a hoax. There are numerous job openings right now in meat factories just waiting for Trump and his followers to arrive. Come one, most people come to Pattaya for the nightlife. If that doesn't exist there are many places in the world with better beaches, weather, culture, food etc. I certainly wouldn't live in Pattaya for a REAL life. 3 1 1
ChomDo
I think resuming international flights would be a terrible mistake, but I've also changed my return flight to Europe (not a badly effected country) for July and curious to know if there will be any flights at that time yet. The airline has scheduled to resume flights to BKK starting from the beginning of July but I think they are just guessing. At the moment it's hard to believe that Thailand would open it's borders so soon, unless they can really develop a quick test for all air passengers at airports. At the moment it's hard to believe that Thailand would open it's borders so soon, unless they can really develop a quick test for all air passengers at airports. There will almost certainly be a test for inbound flight passengers released shortly. This from a recent Thaiger article: “From our discussions with airline carriers, testing on arrival looks to be a possible first step, as longer term cross border travel certification processes will take time and coordination.” In the article this refers to Chinese tourists but in theory once in place it could be applied to anybody. Use of an app to track movements for the first 14 days in the country will also be a standard thing within days, already in place via Line in Chiang Mai. My guess is Chinese tourists and foreigners with Thai family waiting to come home late June/early July, other tourism in August or September at the very latest. The idea that there won't be international tourism until next year is for the fairies, more and more countries are opening up realizing you can't delete the virus, you just need to live with it and travel will return in the next month or two to many of these countries, Thailand will sail in the middle of the pack. 2

Popular Post time2093
Being a Yank, I would think your country and the s***t show you guys are in and with the numbers of cases and deaths recorded, I would imagine people from America will be all the way last on the list that is permitted to enter Thailand anytime soon
lopburi3
Actually current reporting is tourists to be allowed 4th quarter (October). There is a huge backlog of Thai citizens who have not been allowed to return yet (believe majority of those wanting to return still waiting). sletraveler
Hmmm, I am here in Thailand on O visa planning to return to US for a couple months with some medical issues. I am assuming that travel will be resumed by August or at least September. I sure don’t want to be stuck in US past that.

fourpack
What countries exactly have Covid under control? ???? None have some people need to get a grip on reality. Covid has gone no where its just waiting knowing fools will act as though its all over. Please don't be one of those fools. So you've assumed everyone is the same as you. Many people have family and long term friends where they live. Additionally, as many will tell you, Pattaya is not all 'bars & chicks' - Its not my cup of Tea, I'd never want to live there, but I'd never criticise someone for wanting to return to an area where his family and friends live.

Possibly, but would they come when this means they must submit to 14-day quarantine on return to their home countries? China, for example, is going to be very selective in the countries it allows Chinese tour groups to visit, when and if they are allowed at all.
