Maybe I am the last one to notice...

But just yesterday I stumbled upon a hint that ordinary soap or any fat solvent best kills the current Corona virus when washing hands.

You could even use dish-washing liquid being better than any "disinfectant"/"alcohol".

The virus is material within a wrap of fat. A fat solvent immediately annihilates the virus.

Alcohol gels, spray etc. are 2nd best if no water, sink and soap are available.

Good news just not practical for outside the home. Benefit of those gels is that they are easy to apply no need for a sink or towel ect. (and then it have to be single use towels otherwise risk for spreading).

 

So it is good news but only for homes. Not practical changing the way it goes now outside.
