Siamike, I am not sure where "Bangsean Walking Street" is. Unless you are refureing to the four lane divided street that Takes you from Sukinvet to the beach which is like five KL long.

Below I list 2 Expats Clubs in Pattaya. Although not in Bangsean area can go online for meetings and in future they will have weekly.monthly meet ups where you can get a variety of info on places to go, Visa advice, ect . The other 2 links are to another club in Bangkok that had monthly meeet ups for all sorts of activities  dancing, wine tasting , movies, trips, ect.  Both Patttaya Expat clubs could give you info/advice on many farang subjects/interests.

Yes,Bang Saen is just about as Thai as it gets in that area.Move to Ban Chang, you avoid the hustle of sin city, but still plenty of farang around.

In spite of Google translate ,learning the local language helps a lot in so many respects.I arrived in LOS when I was still relatively young, and without making much of an effort ,I learned to speak the language, partly by living with Thai girls who could not speak English. Still, after 30years ,not able to read and write.3years ago I moved to Vietnam, and maybe because of a much older brain,or because Vietnamese is even more difficult,or because female company is harder to come by ,I haven't made much headway linguistically. Although I like it better here, just because of the language barrier, I often consider moving back. It makes such a difference being fluent in the local language in stead of just stuttering a few phrases that 2 out of 3 times the Vietnamese do not understand anyway. Google can solve problems, but it is not genuine communication.

I went to Bang Saen a couple times ... 40 years ago.  One was for a 5 day or so intensive meditation course.  The other was teaching farang Peace Corps volunteers to ride motorbikes. Very sleepy back then during the week.  Fond memories.
