Can fly out BKK international?

The flights listed on travel search engines such as kayak, which seem daily- are they happening or are they all canceled at last minute?  I would like to fly out, but don't want to waste time if these flights are just being listed and canceled 1 hour before departure. Would like to fly to the US. The embassy's website says call for repatriation assistance yadda yadda.... do not ravel ... may be stuck somewhere you don't want to be ...

 

All those flights listed and it does not add up.

One example that technically works is Korean Air (via Incheon/Seoul).

The connection to east coast New York is quite good.

Both flights have actually taken place during the last few days.

 

To west coast Los Angeles a long stopover wait.

 

"Technically": don't ask me about Covid related rules/ban on individuals.

But as a US citizen you should at least  be able to enter US soil.

Other airlines that actually fly:

KLM to Amsterdam, Amsterdam to New York.

LH to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to New York.

Again I haven't checked legal stuff.

And expect to spend half a day in a transit hall.

 

AF to Paris, Paris to New York. Terrible connection/stopover.

Also Qatar to Doha then on to USA and one of the Japanese airlines (JAL or ANA) through Tokyo.

 

Look at BKK airport live departures board online and you'll see them, and bear in mind not all are daily flights.

Yes, depending on the airlines, you could fly out of BKK especially now that restrictions are easing.

Why did they stop air mail? No reason,  just another "crackdown".

 

Flights have never stopped. You can LEAVE Thailand anytime you want.

Don't plan on coming back anytime soon if you are white or European

I've read that many flights that were commercial routes are still flying even if mostly empty due to contracts that require them to maintain the route regardless of the number of passengers on any given flight. If they cancel due to the bottom line of the individual flight, it will create a mess for them if things become more normal. Those flights can also carry cargo. 

 

I'm in the same boat (plane) and need to return to the U.S. for some urgent family matters. I know that getting back in will be a challenge at best. However, I'm going to have to take one of the flights that do connect at some point in the next couple of weeks.

I know I can leave Thailand for the U.S. with little challenge. I meant that coming back to Thailand from the U.S. will be a challenge.

Good luck.  All are cancelled.  Here's how it works to get out of BKK.  1. there must be an international flight that really will not be cancelled.  2. if you transit via another country, you must be a citizen to transit.  Unless they allow ALL nationalities or the one you are from to transit. 3. You must be able to afford the flight.  4. flight will likely be cancelled.

Thank you for the replies. I decided to stay put for another month.

Don't want to be stuck in no mans land, and perhaps the outlook by next month will have improved.

I am in Phnom Penh and have already had one EVA flight cancelled. For lack of anything better to do, I'm considering crossing the northern border to visit Issan, visit with some monks, and then catch a flight out of Bangkok to California.
