Only blame the airline ... previously had flight cancelled awaiting return of funds and at time booking was the only available flight !  Still thought as some previous returnees stated seat person blah blah only told of update on plane ... suppose som na na me ???????????? at least arrived - not the money it’s about safety and social distancing

Had you read UK in Thailand (British embassy FB page) you would have read that EVA were flying full.  Few airlines are flying because of a ban on international arrivals (and Thai are in the sh!t) so I think you can be grateful to EVA.

My refund came through in 2 weeks.

What about the drunks onboard - any issue with them?  I understand that the police were there to greet them.

NB:  Don't sweat about Covid-19, there is none in Thailand (unless you transited via the quarantine facility)  -  be careful in the UK though.

I agree with what you are saying. But there was a general agreement with IATA that all flights would follow social distancing rules. That was a statement agreed by carriers around the world.

acknowledged rather than agreed. Airlines the world over are in trouble. They need to quickly maximise both revenue (cash flow) and profit, otherwise the number of airlines will dramatically reduce and the fares will really rocket. Put up with it, because it ensures that more airlines will survive and therefore air travel will remain affordable.  Make too much of a fuss about it and the chance to travel at all may disappear altogether for the majority.

Thanks for the update OP you got there in the end - this thread has made me smile a bit

Regarding your freezer, I always defrost, empty, and clean my fridge and freezer prior to departure then place a towel in the door to soak up any unexpected water that may appear and keep the doors slightly ajar, works well.

Strike 3 was switching the freezer off before leaving the u.k ???????????? kitchen stunk upon return here’s hoping life improves over the next few weeks ???? thanks for the observation ????

Was it $400 for business class last minute upgrade? Not a bad deal.

I fully clean and dry my Thai fridge and leave it unplugged.

My US one in my condo is a Huge built in model. Throw away all perishables.

Determined it costs $6 USD per month to run at the zero setting.

Worst case scenario come back to warm beer and cans of San Pelegrino,

and some discolored mustard.

if my plane cant make a profit after suffering a few months with no income, then my plane doesn't fly at all.

What university did you get your MBA at????? Or are you rich enough to pay thousands of people

for months and banks and leasing companies with no revenue?

I sat on a plane from BKK to LHR on 25th March wth Thai Air, the flight was full, 75% had masks and guess what I did'nt get covid-19, this was at the height of the pandemic.

I suppose the OP will be hunkering down in a bunker in the UK now too frightened to go outside lol

NB Not many planes flying

Those that are, are full....... what on earth did you expect!

My G's flight was "originally" scheduled for tomorrow; June 10th. That was cancelled long ago. Eva has told us they will honor the return leg but will not book until July and no word on that yet. I do not think I will mention this post to her. ????

I'm going to guess it was for an upgrade to Premium Economy. Which would still be worth it for the extra room. I'm booked to fly to UK in August (and hopefully back here a few weeks later) and ticket price Premium Economy is basically same as pre-Covid for that time of year.

This is what I'm wondering about, What exactly are they spraying into the air?

If it kills C19 I'm not really too interested in breathing it in.

But trump says it's OK, ingesting disinfectants can quickly kill the virus.

Up to you whether you believe what he says/anything he says.

You should have booked business class.

The chairs are not only larger but also more spread out and many less to each row depending on the plane type of course.

Don't be daft. First class is the place to be.

I was on this flight 4 rows behind and found it ok.

Found it odd there was spacing on seats at the gate and then on the plane no spacing. I asked about a upgrade and was told 400 usd to upgrade to premium economy so didn’t take it as luggage was the same amount.

All the staff worked extremely well considering the ppe they were all wearing . Didn’t really notice anyone having any problems with the flight and most on board kept their masks on when seated.
Food started out not too bad but the second meal was awful.

Flight was always going to be rammed due to limited choice but at least back before the quarantine nonsense kicked in next day.

One idiot had a very expensive flight though as he was caught smoking in the toilets and escorted off by the police upon landing !

Don't EVA fumigate the aircraft before take-off? Cabin crew walk through with aerosol cans. Doesn't stop direct contact but...

They did in February when I flew to UK. Can't remember on the return?

If one wants social distancing then be prepared to pay for half the vacant seat next to you.

None of that is any good if the person sat next or behind you starts coughing all over you..

But what?

What disinfectant kills CV-19?

None that I have ever heard of.

when i travelled from Copenhagen to Bkk on 19 March, there were 21 of us passengers on a massive plane, normally nearer 300.  It was great.

I know this is not really relevant, but wanted to share it with you.

Lufthansa CEO on June 7: “We have now introduced a mandatory mask requirement on board. But what is important is that there has not been a single case of infection on any of our planes, because our air conditioning systems clean the air onboard constantly and thoroughly,” he said. “Nowhere is the air as good as on an airplane … I can only advise everyone: Whoever is afraid of corona should fly more.” [my italics]

I'll fly anywhere as soon as I know I can get back - although I suspect not all airlines would be as clean as LH.

What a load of bullocks. The air conditioner does not clean the air.

Social distancing becomes almost irrelevant when you sit still in a small enclosed area with recirculating air for long periods.

Best covid 19 seat on a commercial airliner is probably the toilet cabin.

I doubt even there is safe in a pressurised aluminium tube...

It does filter particles out of the air on an aeroplane, operating theatre clean.
