So its not a Ford Raptor here just a name on the Box.

Ford Raptor here Is a Ranger Raptor, completely different to the USA version which is based upon the bigger F150.

The USA is getting the Ranger Raptor late 2021.

That was my meaning, you get the baby Ranger dressed up with Raptor spray logo and a bit of plastic, but none of the toys..

You can't get a Ford 150 RAPTOR over here.

And thanks I don't nee glasses either!

If you think the Ranger Raptor is nothing more than a spray logo and a bit of plastic I strongly suggest you do infact need to visit Top Charoen.

I don't think I know, My friend has one... she had the side "Raptor" spray logo over-sprayed [removed] as she didn't like it. Now it plain black apart from the front plastic arrangement "under bumper area" it's identical to a Ranger, same engine size, 6 speed auto interior etc etc.

The 2.0 L diesel from here does hold up quite well against the old V8 Raptor though, for having 1/3 the engine displacement.

Beg to differ. Your comment is like "yeah that riding lawn mower with grandpa driving held up well considering it only has a miniature briggs and stratton engine". Come on, let's be completely honest and stop sugar coating. The raptor in Thailand limping in with a 18.7 second quarter mile is a joke and the people reviewing it were actually laughing at it both before and after the run. And why not, Ford's brand new tinier than ever 2.0L engine, their vision of the future fitted with the 10 speed auto tranny fail to inspire and perform abysmally. Ford is betting some chunky plastic bits, gimmicks, and stickers is all they need to do to satisfy the Thai buyer into spending extra money for it.

Is there any word whether the higher power Hilux mentioned in the original post, which seems to be alluding to a 2.8L GD-6 turbo diesel, will be offered by Toyota in Thailand or not?

Wish they would offer full size 4 door pick ups here with real engines like they do in the US.

These are all like toys

Why?

Ferangs are a funny lot, back home they are for Pool Cleaners, and Maintainance Folk. Posh ones for Cattle Ranchers. Bit of an overkill here to carry a bit of shopping from Big C.
