Why do thai men let the girlfriends work in bar

Featured Replies

Why do the thai men let their girlfriends work in bar? I have met alot of woman that have bfs that work in gogo bars, I even met one girl whos boyfriend worked in same club. I understand the money situation, but surely the man must be hurting to see his girl go with different men most nights.

An interesting discussion.   Perhaps the idea is a completely alien concept to us (westerners) who've grown up with the luxury of education and a welfare service befitting of western morals,

Nope. You's thinkin with western head/heart. Money number one and trumps any sort of 'hurt'. Anyway, this could be a 5 4 3 2 1...

Now the virus has upset their easy lifestyle and they're back in their village thinking a factory job with medical and welfare benefits ain't so bad.

Perhaps the idea is a completely alien concept to us (westerners) who've grown up with the luxury of education and a welfare service befitting of western morals, however, those who have grown up in society where the necessity for such is tolerated, accepted and understood I suspect the actions of 'going with another' for money is seen as nothing more than work.... its a job, its just a job...

"You can have my body, but you can't have my soul" type of thing....

The money has to come from somewhere

also it's often the girl ''choice'' to do this job as she thinks it's

the easiest and quickly way to earn money for someone with a low school level

and no particular skills for a job, except a nice smile and a sexy body.

The boyfriend has not really the choice between to accept or to provide himself

all the money the girl wants, then most of the boyfriends agree with this

uncomfortable situation.

On a more anecdotical side, in fact and at least in Pattaya a lot of the ''boyfriends'' are

''girlfriends'', there are a lot of couple girl\girl. you can see the ''tom'' come pick their

fiancees at the closure of the a gogos late in the night.

with money, you can forget everything, really. Can buy love, can also ignore love. Money trumps everything for these people. If it doesn't, if the guys respected their wives/gfs more, and if the girls respected themselves more, they would've worked as street food sellers or something similar. But no, they want the money, don't they?

True

particularly with the boudhist thing where the spirit

is considered as a different and separate thing from the body.

It's why for the funerals, after the religious ceremony where the spirit is saved

and ready for the next reincarnation, the body become just an useless envelop that can be burned

Do you know what is the situation of most of these girls?

They comes in Pattaya only with a bag that contains some clothes

they comes without money to start a street food business and they don't have time for that

they need to send money in the next days to feed the child stay at the village with the grandparents

you have no idea of the pressure the situation and the family put on the shoulders of these young girls

There are still waitresses.... Maids.... Nannies..... they can get a job fairly quickly if they want to. It just won't be a quick 2k made within 4 hours.... Which then proves my point. Money wins over everything else.

Thai men understand that their girlfriends have a gift that keeps on giving...????

Still doesn't answer the question

with a job (Waitress, maid, nannie and so on) they can have

9 or 10000 bahts at the end of the month, but how they can pay

their room, the food, transport and so on the first month and still send

the 5000 to the village?

Don't forget they are in emergency when they get here the first time

Thai men understand a girl's body is like a sink

once well cleaned it's as if it had never been used

One gal from Crazy House in Bangkok explained her reasoning to us.  Despite being educated, it paid the bills better than an office job ever could (10k baht/mo in Isaan).  She had to support her parents back home and also feed her lifestyle.

The smarter and more enterprising ones don't bother having a boyfriend though, all they do is drag them down and become abusive over time.

A Thai lady admitted her husband drops her off on Friday night, picks her up at the end of the weekend.  This was 20  odd years ago at a disco. Patong. My "lad" mates went there last year, left after a few days. Said nothing left for taking but ladieboys and unattractive older women.

Another one I met in BKK (a Hxxxxx chain club). She would be a decent 40ish Asian housewife in any country, nothing special. She told me she had several westerners sending her money monthly a Swiss, an American etc. , and she did not need a husband. Smart lady! Why share it with a leech?

4 hours? Wow we have a stud on the forum!

Money is the obvious answer.

Whats he gonna do without her money to buy his whiskey and do <deleted> all lifestyle? So he puts up with her banging other guys. The more concerned ones would probably rather work in the same bar just to keep tabs that she’s doing ok.

Sex is not the same for a young Thai female as it is in the West. Her pussy is her tool to make loads of money. There is no emotion attached to anyone outside her relationship......and probably not a lot inside it.

Good question if you asked five months ago.  Now there is no business and no prospect in sight.

Easy /quick money. It starts with basics and soon builds up (Maslow theory) to smart phones (latest models),motorbikes, clothes, restaurants, car ,house ,holidays....

there is no end to it. In fact you are now trapped.

the virus situation has been a cold shower for many. Cannot go back to hometown or not wanted back (fear of virus).

You really know who your friend/boy friend /family member are when the going gets tough..

I recall seeing on the forum from a survey 70% of Thai women admitted to cheating

Maybe the guys figure might as well make it pay ????

They can pay their room , food transport, and send money back to the village the same as the millions who have chosen not to sell their ass. Not all gals aspire to become prostitutes. Perhaps if they didn't get pregnant at 15, they wouldn't be in that position?  And their boyfriends are all for the idea of the gal going to work, meeting a  falang, perhaps a house, money sent every month, hey, maybe these guys ain't so stupid after all? Who's the stupid one sending money?

They are not girlfriends, and the guy has no emotional investment. They are business partners. The guy provides some level of protection, rides, companionship, and the obligatory daily disagreement, all culturally correct and spoken in Thai. The girl provides the income.

The girl I know her boyfriend works in same bar, she is 31 she is doing it to build a house for herself, (started before she met him) her new boyfriend cant help pay for the house on a low income she told me how much she needs to make (nearly a million baht) then how can he expect to keep her in his life if all she wants is a safer life, what if a foreign guy comes along and promises to take care her or to his country, would she stay loyal to him? If not then the poor thai guy has lost his girlfriend. I know i am looking at it from a westerners point of view, but I do feel sorry for thai guys in that situation.
