Video: BMW blaze brings the fire brigade rushing to Lampang housing estate

Dramatic footage from the Panee housing estate in Pichai sub-district of Lampang in Thailand's north showed the moment the fire brigade arrived to tackle a burning BMW parked in the carport of a house. 

 

In the first soi on the left the firemen found the BMW (Bangkok 4422 plate) on fire and feared the blaze would spread.

 

Police on the scene after the fire was extinguished in 30 minutes found minor damage to another vehicle parked in front of the BMW and to the roof of the carport. 

 

The German car, however, was completely destroyed. 

 

The owner of the Bimmer whose name was not revealed said he had just parked when he noticed fire and called 191.

All the cheap plastic components that surround the engine... that's why modern day BM's are rubbish.

And fuel injection systems that run at very high pressures. One small crack in a small component can spray out a lot in a short time.

Everything is now made of plastic or rubber, they say it's cheaper to produce.

Problem is with the heat generated around the engine most of the plastic parts harden within two years from new, they crack, fail leak, break, fall-off.. sensors crack & fail etc etc... hoses leak, you name it.

Instead of buying a luxury car built to last, it lasts two years then you start to get a ton of trouble... and those "cheap plastic parts" well they suddenly become expensive to replace !

Same goes for the modern Mercedes... pile of rubbish.

The plastic header tank on many ford engines cooling systems is now a 'service part', every two years.

Edit.

The header tank also runs at pressure, it's not just a catch and return tank.

To late to edit but it appears the white plastic tank works at 21psi.

If you have an ecosport you really do need to change it every two years.
