Private Hospital in Surin

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I’m looking for a recommendation regarding a reputable modern private hospital in the Surin area.

Wife needs a mammogram and ultrasound procedure.

thanks in advance

Sorry can not be specific but you are aware that most private hospitals outside of Bangkok and Chiang Mai do not as good staff as the local major government hospitals?  Private is not necessary better, even in the major cities/hospitals.  Is there a language issue using government hospital?  If private hospital is required perhaps better to travel to Bangkok where most of the better doctors/facilities are located.

Note you posted this in general - you might want to have moderator move to medical?

I believe the waiting times in the public hospital system are 3 months +

hence the private hospital

That is a very good reason. Mammogram and ultrasound can certainly be done quite competently by a government hospital, but waiting 3 months can mean the difference between early detection and better results, versus not. I might suggest that this is worth the trip to Bangkok, but COVID-19 has certainly made that less than convenient. Have you checked Buriram, which is not too far away?

There are 2 private hospitals in Surin.

Both carry the same name "Ruampaet Surin".

Dr Hann's, not far from the government hospital, looks nicer and is bigger.

It caters very much to Cambodians.

The other one is near Surin Plaza, sometimes has the better doctors, but it's probably not what you are looking for.

The best hospital in Surin is, overall, the government hospital.

There is no private hospital in Buriram that you would want to know.

Best choice for you are the private hospitals in Korat, St Mary's or Bangkok Hospital Ratchasima.
