Does anyone have any suggestions as to buying a 'classic' 90s BMW in Bangkok? I fancy treating myself to one, do not fancy and cannot afford a newer one, but wondered about the cost of buying, running and maintaining such a vehicle here? Any help, suggestions or contacts will be much appreciated.

Seen many of them around for sale either privately or from car yards, however, buying a "lemon" beemer will cost you dearly and will turn into money pit, and unless you know what to look for and have and can tell a good one from a bad one, one should stick to more affordable to run cars...

There is a “BMW classic Thailand” Facebook page.   From what I have seen, the ones in good shape certainly aren’t cheap and I can imagine that parts would be pretty expensive and hard to come by.  Unfortunately, cool-ish cars cost a fortune here in Thailand.

And from the Facebook page...
