Had to swim twice a week at school, wasn't good at swimming, it became a chore, preferred cross country running got out and saw more

If your plan, as with many others it would appear, is 2 - 3 years, then sail into the sunset who can blame the ladies for extracting as much as they can due to the uncertain future - you are making the no commitment rules here not they

You sound like a fairly educated guy who's been around the traps and knows what's going on, that said, every situation is unique because all girls are not the same, so we mustn't taint them with the same brush.

 

I say the above because I have had my fair share of women in my 60 years, mostly good experiences, albeit it some had emotional problems, not from me, from past experiences which I wouldn't allow to rub off on me, that said I met and married a bar girl back in 2007, she has to be the best female friend, wife, call her what you like out of the lot of them, so we shouldn't taint the BG's as all the same, it boils down to the person and their personality.

 

Look I have a brother in-law who is stuck overseas in his country, he has been married to his wife around the same time as mine, and I heard from my Mrs the other day she is banging a guy in the next village while hubby is stuck overseas, none of our business, but relationships from afar can be hard and your head can play up because of stories you here, some bitter, some twisted, however, if you have a relationship with the girl and think you know her fairly well, then you have to stay focused and strong if your wanting to go forward, that said if it was me overseas and my Mrs was here, I wouldn't stop supporting her, she needs to survive, if I was starting to do it tough, then I would tell her I that I have to reduce my support, she wouldn't lift an eyebrow, she would make good as long as the kids were covered for school and food, so you can look in between the lines if she arks up.

 

If she plays up on you, then she is only human, we all have needs, and that would be up to you whether to forgive her or not, everyone is different and not many could stomach such a thing due to insecurities, I mean would you ever tell her you played up, no, it's on a need to know basis.

 

So you decide which path your going to take, I almost didn't return to mine once, before we married, only because she wouldn't answer my calls at a certain time, she told me she got a job locally working in a library for 4 weeks and couldn't answer the mobile during those hours, naturally I was suspicious so I turned up a week early unannounced and went to the library, but not before calling her mobile before I entered the library, it was switched off, at least this way I put my paranoia out of its misery, have never regretted it since.
