Police in the north east of Thailand have arrested a woman for impersonating a doctor at Yasothon Hospital.

The authorities at the hospital had received complaints from patients that a female doctor had approached them to pay her 400 baht in cash for x-rays.

This seemed ridiculous as all payments at the hospital had to be done through the cashier.

The local police were informed and the hospital was carefully watched.

Soon Sophin, 42, was arrested outside the hospital getting on a bus.

She was wearing a white coat. On one side was the hospital logo. On the other was her embroidered name and surname.

She told the police that she wanted her husband to believe she was really a doctor.

She has been charged with impersonating a doctor.

Other charges will follow when the aggrieved patients who were conned out of money come forward to file complaints.

Maybe they should also arrest this person for doing the same?

I hold a PhD. If on seeing Dr before my name, anyone asks if I am a medical doctor, I always reply "no, I'm a real one".

Ive noticed quite a few people in Thailand who impersonate as doctors but they dont ride in buses.  Maybe they have been doing it a long time lol!

What about a soldier impersonating a Prime Minister? No, seriously.

Or who says "you can't trust anybody".

First hurdle taken.

With these credentials she will go far in the government.
