Does anybody have any good suggestions for car repair shops?

There are some talented people around hiding in various shops..  like the Tire "helper guy" in the local Tire shop who knew exactly what was making my squeeky/knocking noise from front wheel for 6 months (400 THB later and 15 min DONE! , depite 3 visits to the dealer including sending the hear mech out driving to "check it out" uhhh ahhh ummmm later and a presumed (guess) list of parts to order..

No thanks, done that game before ending with a long bill of changed parts that did not need it.... its appalling.. in other countries you expect dealers to be up there with the best.. here it seems the untrained / unexperienced/dont care just follow a checklist they are told to and cant faultfind or think for themselves or perhaps they have been told to  change as many parts as possible? Especially to women or silly looking owners who are more interested in the biscuits served.... or chatting to the pretty office staff who are of course seasoned mechs with 50 years experience .....

Having lived here near a decade I have seen others with other dealers suffer the same some  of * Engine rebuild with new parts = unusable * Holes in Radiator whiles working on waterpipes resulting on sending the whole car to BKK * Colatoral damage whilst changing a bulb, then trying to cover it up, then offering a discount on the broken part...  And scooters?  same thing.... soft forks = no idea at the dealers.. they just want to tick the checklist and get on with it.. loose screws and obvious things need doing..... they old bike shop guy in the shop locally changed the fork oil to a heavier version, helped a lot.... cheap and good...

Ok, had my rant... (adds up over the years)  so

Any good car/bike shops please share them.... south Phuket mainly

and dont forget, its like food places in that its not usually the shop thats good/bad, its the cook/mech ....  if he leaves then......

Happy motoring all... stay safe...
