Good on the UK. Be tough and protect our fisheries.

  • Should the UK go for no deal over an economic sector (fishing) that amounts to 0.12% of the overall economy, and less than 0.1% of employment? Even the UK leather industry is slightly larger and will

The statement below has been copied from the VoteLeave website. Given that Brexiters continually insist that they knew what they were voting for, in the event of a 'No (FTA) deal' will they then campaign for a second referendum? After all, you won't have got what you were promised.

"FACT

After we Vote Leave, we will have a friendly free trade deal with the EU.

Some claim we will not get a trade deal but there is a European free trade zone from Iceland to the Russian border and we will be part of it. The idea that Britain will be the only country in Europe not to be part of this zone is silly."

Thanks, I googled Fiona Bruce.

Nauseus has sometimes a " strange way " ( At least for me ) to express himself.

For instance he used regularly the emoticon Haha to confirm he is agree with someones post.

But I have time, he can answer when it suits him.

In the meantime I am convinced there are no laws and regulations issued by the E.U. which affect the man in the street.

Well at least not in Belgium.

His comments/explanations would make clear that there is/was a difference for the U.K..

Did he? Still waiting to find out which EU rules or regulations he objects to.

Even though he said there were several.

What is the EU doing about the illegal immigrants, who, after all entered the EU mostly from the Mediteranean, traveled across safe haven countries including France, and then are helped to cross the English Channel.

Just helping them on their way to their preferred destination.

Not by the Boris clan I guess , but it seems the responsible conservatives are starting moving in , seeing how he blunder from  one to the next things , u turning , and even get reprimanded by the speaker of the house about his comment on the leader of the opposition …..  he is really desperate on keeping ground .

What about protecting the beaches from illegal immigrants. They talk a good fight on the EU talks, but are utterly useless.

Soon to come. Dont worry. When boarder is reinstated then they cant come back after being thrown back into EU.

Johnson will not be there come April next year. This entire Prime Minister thing is simply too much work and bother for him.

He will carry on till January so he will always be able to claim that he delivered Brexit but after that Conservatives will be plunging the knife into him. Gove, Sunak or Patel?

My money is on Gove.

Brexit back in crisis as UK threatens to undercut divorce pact

European diplomats said Britain was playing a game of Brexit chicken by threatening to collapse the process and challenging Brussels to blink first. Some fear Johnson may view a no-deal exit as useful distraction from the coronavirus crisis.

EU diplomats were aghast, cautioning that such a step - leaked on the eve of new talks in London - would tarnish Britain's global prestige and heighten chances of a tumultuous final disentangling from the bloc on Dec. 31.

Reneging on Brexit deal would strengthen case for breaking up UK, government told

Johnson to deliver ultimatum to EU as minister defends plan as addressing ‘a few loose ends’

Reneging on any obligations under the Brexit withdrawal agreement would make the case for breaking up the UK stronger, the government has been warned, as a minister defended the plan as simply addressing “a few minor loose ends”.

After it emerged Boris Johnson is drawing up legislation that will override the Brexit withdrawal agreement on Northern Ireland, threatening the collapse of talks with the EU, the SNP said leaving without a deal would cause “lasting damage to Scottish jobs and the economy in the middle of a pandemic”.

Ian Blackford, the SNP’s leader, said “By threatening to undermine the UK’s international treaty obligations and impose a catastrophic no-deal Brexit on Scotland against our will, the prime minister is proving he cannot be trusted and is underlining the need for Scotland to become an independent country.”

I could well be wrong but I don't think so.

I did however find this snippet from Kent live.

https://www.kentlive.news/news/kent-news/truth-behind-claims-refugees-stay-4415702

A large number of refugees have been arriving in Kent in recent weeks.

These desperate people are risking their lives by taking dangerous journeys across the English Channel with small dinghies as their only means of transport across the water.

They come into the UK with little more than the clothes on their back and very few possessions, if any.

Many of those who oppose the safe arrival of people to our shores question why they have not been stopped at the first European safe haven they come to.

So why did Merkel and May invent their BRINO Withdrawal Agreement? That would have been half in and half stay, and the EU & Remainers liked that one! When we Leave, we have to Leave it fully and properly. That means no EU rules & regulations, no EU law, No EU freedom of movement, No EU control of our government policies, so No Single Market and No Customs Union.
A Free Trade Agreement is what would be necessary after all the above, but if the EU will not make an agreement without trying to revert back to all the above conditions, then we would be back to half leave and half stay. It's obvious that is not what Brexiteers voted for, but what the EU still wants. Sorry - cannot.

Sounds very much like suicide ????

I would say it is more a problem for the U.K. 's N.Irl. when the other Ireland has things they could have and possible could not have now in case , while they are 1 people and in the agreement they could live like that with no border , and also they would know who was the culprit who changed that …..

Did the U.K. had not enough problems with that Irish problem ….?

But it is also not a wished situation by the E.U.

I really could not see why this is a fish to fry only  for E.U.  ….. it is for both a problem where a solution was agreed for  until a certain Boris think to see a blackmail opportunity …..which go blow in his politic face

This is the EU reality. “Let’s allow them to hang around here, until they move on to the UK. We don’t really care, so long as we don’t pay for them.”

The Dublin agreement (which you seem to be referring to) is EU law, so nothing the UK could use anymore.

The question was what you gonna do about your refugee problem. Your fantasy of invading other countries to resettle the refugees arriving on your shores is not gonna happen, and you know that.

YOUR refugees.

You were just egging me on about your invasion fantasy weren’t you? I know that now.

You can still have them all back anyway.

So go on, give it a try. No need for such nonsense for us. We’ll be quite alright about no FTA, even if the Irish are totally screwed

European Commission president warns trade talks will be off if UK reneges on Brexit treaty
Boris Johnson criticised in Brussels amid reports he plans to renege on Withdrawal Agreement

By James Crisp, Brussels Correspondent

   7 September 2020 • 1:36pm

The president of the European Commission has threatened to not do business with Britain if "trust" is broken by the UK reneging on the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement.
Ursula von der Leyen said respect for the divorce treaty that paved the way for the UK to leave the EU on January 31 this year was a "prerequisite" for any free trade agreement with Brussels.

Boris Johnson is planning to use the internal market bill, due to be published on Wednesday, to renege on provisions in the Withdrawal Agreement, according to reports on Sunday.

If the bill does undermine commitments made in the Brexit divorce treaty, it will make it extremely difficult politically  for Michel Barnier to offer the UK any concessions in the trade negotiations, which restart on Tuesday. Ministers have denied that the Government plans to tear up the treaty .

The question was how that should happen. There’s no legal mechanism to send resettle. Invading France as you seemed to prefer also not gonna happen. They would have to leave on their own—maybe that could work once Brexit is completed and the UK is down the drain.
