Wasn't it obvious from the first moment that here criminals have robbed criminals.

Maybe just "debt collection"?

maybe no robbery at all

I wonder what sort of business they were running that suddenly dried up

detailed movements over the last 4-5 years are now under scrutiny.

Are they examining the septic tank to see if someone dumped on them?

Can’t scam a scammer !! Just a higher version of the Europeans last year who were in Koh phangan and samui saying they had been robbed etc and were trying to claim insurance. They were all false claims and they thought the local police would be to stupid to find out the truth . Guess the hours of questioning at the station made them crack the people spent few months in jail before being deported ! ????

No mention of biometrics or smart cars have we been breached ????

I've heard nothing about BMW smart cars for weeks. I think they are on holiday or have Covid.

A deputy chief of the RTP earlier in the week went to the area to demand that the case be properly investigated by the Nong Prue police.

That's a first... or is this the new normal?

In the real world that would be a given. In 3rd world Thailand the police have to be ordered to do their job. Whether they will or not is still up in the air. The deputy chief has spoken so his role is over. It isn't his role to ensure they act on what he has said. He can't be blamed if the local plod go back to sleep.

there you have it.... money and Chinese are a bad mix, drugs/blackmail/money laundering are all called "business" dealings

Thanks - just as I posted on TVF the other day, may also include on-line gambling!

Quote from Statista:-

"The global online gambling market is anticipated to be valued at more than 92.9 billion U.S. dollars in 2023. The current size of the market is almost 59 billion U.S. dollars, meaning the size is forecast to double in the upcoming years"

The Chinese number for '3' sounds similar to Thai '10' ; bad translating from Chinese to Thai to English in the original version of incident.

Now the focus seems to very much be concentrating on the Chinese men themselves whose DNA and fingerprints have been taken and whose business dealings and detailed movements over the last 4-5 years are now under scrutiny.

Under what law can they demand DNA and fingerprints from the victims?

Sounds to me like it was police officers that committed the crime.

Looks like Hoo Flung Dung and Sum Ting Wong may be in deep doo doo. Just maybe they have been living high on the hog with company money and needed a (fairy) story to cover the shortfall. All will be revealed, or not, in due course.
