A mask will help with what? I'm certain that I contracted C19 back in February and a mask is hardly a sort of vaccine.

I find all this twaddle entertaining but do wonder sometimes.

You will find the true answer here with all us experts sure...  with the possiblity of saving the world from C19

  • face to face contact you say. you mean french kissing. yeah that's fine, i searched and there's nothing wrong with that, just don't sit closer to 2 metres to anyone when doing it. hope that helps

  • It is completely safe to be in close proximity to lots of people not wearing masks as long as you wear a t-shirt with some sort of social justice slogan. Just don't forget to put on a mask before y

I have 3 ply, ear loop design, with not to be used as PPE or for medical purposes labelling. If it's not fit for PPE or medical purposes then what use is it?   I only wear a mask out shoppin

No.

I'm talking about someone come up to you and talking to you less than a meter away.

Possible especially if they talk loudly abd you are in an enclosed space

UV isn't doing much good in Brazil or India.

So a mask will prevent some of the viral load getting in you, thus reducing the illness - is that rite?

There's no simple answer to the question you posed -- except the following -- you want to do your best to avoid close contact with anyone outside your immediate family unless you're wearing a mask, and practicing social distancing and hand hygiene -- if you want to protect yourself against the virus.

The virus itself is very contagious, and an infected person can show absolutely no apparent symptoms and still infect others around them. Contact with respiratory secretions is probably the main source of spread, and that can occur from infected people when they breathe out, sneeze, cough, talk, sing, etc.

The risk of infection depends on how high a viral load the infected person you come into contact with has, how close and how sustained your contact with that person is, and in what kind of ventilation environment it occurs. Thus avoidance and preventive measures are the best precautions for the time being.

Regarding masks, in general, the common non-N95 type masks commonly worn here are probably most effective in helping prevent an infected person from spreading the virus to others, because the masks capture a portion of their respiratory secretions. You wearing a mask not only protects others around you, but also may protect you, depending on the type and quality of the mask. The closer, more form fitting on the face the better.

Here's an example of what can happen:

How a superspreader at choir practice sickened 52 people with COVID-19

A COVID-19 superspreader unknowingly infected 52 people with the new coronavirus at a choir practice in Mount Vernon, Washington, in early March, leading to the deaths of two people, a new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report finds.

...

While the choir members took a few precautions at the practice, such as not hugging or shaking hands, these measures fell short of protecting them from the virus. If anything, this event shows "the importance of physical distancing, including maintaining at least 6 feet [about 1.8 meters] between persons, avoiding group gatherings and crowded places, and wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social-distancing measures are difficult to maintain during this pandemic," according to the report, published online May 12 in the CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.

Or this here in Thailand:

...the boxing stadium, located in Bangkok’s Ramintra area and run by the Army Welfare Department, organized a major boxing event on March 6th, in defiance of the Cabinet’s decision three days earlier that all state agencies should avoid holding any crowded activities, to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The Sports Authority of Thailand also advised the stadium not to hold the event, which featured several top-ranking Muay Thai fighters, but the warning was ignored.  More than 200 COVID-19 infections across the country were linked to the boxing event, according to health officials.

Just google incubation with covid-19 or corona aerosole or a symptoms individual or ventilatie. Or closed rooms, or super spreading children or flu or post symptoms or materials or dna profile sensitive for covid. And other key words in combination with covid-19 or corona

Get a vaccine to prevent tuberculosis and a booster for BMR. Helps to reduce the Sars-cov -19  / Covid-19 / corona risk.

Be aware that all kind of people can get infected only some have more problems the others. Asymptomatic individual are the worst and spreaders too.

understood that the current test used  test only tell you are at the moment the test was taken you are not infected. When you stay I room and stay there for example 6 hrs and then take the same test you can be tested as infected the test resultsonly tells you about the moment of that the test has been taken

You will he amezed about how this virus spears as well can stay alive on matriales for days.

The flu is comming in many areas too. The flu looks the same as Covid-19 in many ways.

Good luck

The Pros say 15 minutes with no mask just talking. They must of had some very stupid violetear's to get answers for this question.

Yeah thanks for the comments that have little or nothing to do with the question asked.

Anyone else?

First of all, the person standing in front of you has to be infected. This country has been in lockdown for 6 months, so the probability to find an infected person, is imo not that easy, unless we're talking about an illegal migrant worker. You seem like a worrier. Take a chill pill and relax.

Just don't forget to put on a mask before you start looting.

I think wearing a mask is great as I have to take a bus trip tomorrow And the smell of garlic so early in the the morning coming from my fellow passengers would make me puke.

I'm currently in a highly infected region of the world - the UK.

CDC took this down. However political motives are strongly suspected.

The basic issue in this controversy about airborne transmission is how much attention is needed to changing ventilation systems.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2020/09/21/no-matter-what-cdc-says-heres-why-many-scientists-think-coronavirus-is-airborne/

No matter what the CDC says, here’s why many scientists think the coronavirus is airborne.

The current CDC has been pretty well compromised in terms of scientific and medical accuracy and integrity under Trump and his virus-denying minions.  That doesn't mean everything they say now is wrong. But it does mean when you see them constantly flip-flopping and altering/changing their guidance on things, questions arise as to the motives and circumstances behind that.

How have they been compromised? Let me count the ways...
