Exercise During State Quarantine

Featured Replies

Someone I know was in ASQ and allowed to go out of his room for excercise in a designated area of the hotel, I think for 1 hour every day, following his first (negative) Covid 19 test.

My wife began her STATE quarantine on Monday and has been told she will not be allowed out of her room for any reason until her quarantine period ends.  Does anyone know if there are any actual rules on this?

Every ASQ subscribed facility is bound to be slightly different from each other given physical facilities and support restrictions to meet different levels of constant/continued isolation requirements.

Recommend doing a google search for

Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) Guidelines Thailand

...though you may find the actual guidelines are only published in Thai, so

You have misread my post - I am asking about the rules for STATE quarantine and wondering if they are any different to those for ASQ as my friend was allowed out for exercise but my wife isn't.

Qui Hotel, Sukhumvit - allowed to walk around the hotel and pool but not the gym.

Not sure the I misread your post. I provided generalized search links that *might* have given someone clues to how the Thai Government have set up their quarantine/isolation programs, and possibly allowed someone to find and compare the guidelines/rules separating how the STATE and ASQ programs are set up. Also, given that the Thai Military Government was involved in the planning and preparation it's almost a given they'd not publish much in order to keep 'others' from examining or questioning the process.

Also, as one is FREE and the other is PAID I'd assume there would be differences on how 'guests' in each program would be treated or otherwise accommodated.

I think the only way you'll find what you're looking for is through collecting first-hand reports such as those you've already gathered.

I would not expect the level of accommodation in a State quarantine hotel to be on par with that of an ASQ, given that one is free and the other is paid for. However, I've seen some quite nice State Quarantine hotels in Bangkok on posts from those staying in them but no mention of excercise. The hotel my wife's staying at is OK and as its free we can't complain but its nothing like the ones in those posts.  I guess she was unlucky - it seems most on her flight were taken to Pattaya, probably due to congestion caused by the protests in Bangkok.

Exercise does not have a cost and I would have thought that both types of accommodation would allow for at least the most basic exercise once an initial negative test result is achieved.

As far as I know, the excercise allowed at the Qui did not require the guest to isolate from others which seems strange.

My wife is due to go into SQ next Monday. She's got a couple of friends who have gone through the process and none of them have been allowed out for excerise after first test. Therefore, there may be different rules for SQ!
