PHUKET:-- A female tourist in Nai Harn received a nasty shock yesterday (Nov 16) when she returned to her villa to be confronted by an angry three-metre cobra.

The tourist and her female companion had left one of the sliding glass doors open at their villa as they went for an evening swim in the pool.

On returning to the villa one of the ladies saw the snake who had entered the room. She immediately closed the door before the snake could leave and ran to seek help from the villa duty worker.

Very good reaction and the best thing to do in that situation .

I wonder if they slept that night or even if they contined staying at that villa. That looked like a seriously <deleted> off cobra.

The ones that come up thru the toilet scare me.  Difficult to fully relax at times. I am constantly looking down when I sit on the toilet especially if in a country area.  Just ready to jump off of the head and fangs pop up.

The main reason I prefer apartments on 3rd floor upwards.

i wonder how to to die when bitten by this ? and if antivenom can work ?

1. The venom affects the respiratory centers in the brain, causing respiratory arrest and cardiac failure.

2. Yes, two types.

Coiled into a strike position, repeated striking, spraying venom while striking...

“The snake was very agitated and kept attacking the workers,” said the DDPM-Rawai worker.

I think they first started to suspect that the snake was angry when it repeatedly attacked them ...

The snake wouldn't have needed to bite me I'd be dead already or the villa would have been raised to the ground ????
