Cat pee?

Featured Replies

Every morning I find under my carport, right in front of my entrance door, a small puddle.

As I have a completely walled property, I suspect it's a cat that jumps over the wall, as on a few occasions I noticed a cat during the night.

The small puddles only started maybe a week ago, and are always in the same location.

You think this could be from a cat, and how to stop it?

Walls are over 2 meter high, so doubt it will be a dog.

The puddle is also really small, so not sure if another animal like a Tokay would do this.

The strange thing is that it's always in the same location right in front of the entrance door, while the carport has approx 35m² of tiled floor

Maybe one of the neighborhood kids doesn't like you.

Yeah OK maybe rats ????  just that I  have 1.8 M walls around my wife's  rented appartments and a dog dug a hole under the fence. ????

Cats and dogs actively avoid the smell of white vinegar and anything that it's touched.....

You might be onto something there, as after more consideration, I think the puddles are too small to be from a cat.

I haven't measured them, but I estimate they are less than 10 cm by less than 5 cm.

Only wonder why it is always in the same spot

They are outside, since it is just a covered car port without any walls, the puddle is in front of the entrance door to the storage, and I'm allergic to cats

Maybe get a vermin specialist involved to put traps, I'm really at a lost to know what else you can do.

Pepper or builders lime ( small bag 20 baht HomePro ) work well for cats.

We have a problem with cats defecating in our garden ( neighbour feeds the strays but has a dog so they come use our toilet !! ????)

Tie a dog up in your carport.

Yes, they are cats. They can climb over walls and the gaps under the main gate.

They not only pee but poo on my grasses. They come during the night when everyone is asleep and I have caught them by surprise but they can run very fast.

If it is just one spot, it's easy to control, just pour vinegar on that spot.

The stray cats pee and poo everywhere in my lawn. Sometimes, if I put my helmet out, they will also pee there.

I have used vinegar on my lawn but the grass wilts after I pour it.

Is there anything I can use without affecting the plants?

So how does this builders lime work for my lawn?

Not sure, I don’t have any lawn but it is okay round trees and plants.

Aluminium ammonium hydroxide powder, commercially known as SKAT in Australia.
Quite harmless chemical but dogs, cats and birds hate it.

Just scatter some dust around the site and maybe on top of the wall you think they are coming over.

Leave a litter tray out! Also a bowl of nice fish for it to eat as a reward for not peeing on the ground!

Tomcats usually only spray to mark their territory.

Lots of shredded dried chilly after cutting the grass for sure keeps dogs and cats away.

in rainy season to be repeated rather frequently.
birds like the seeds, so if you don’t like birds either, a night visor and paint ball gun are recommended

About 8 to 10 km is usually enough. I once relocated one to a wat about 5 km away, and it took him about 4 days to find his way back.

if it was cat urine you would know. the smell is horrible and unique.

cats are extremely meticulous about how and where they do their business.

they urinate in dirt so they can cover it up or will find a place in your house to do it like a kitty litter box.

All my cats without any instruction knew to urinate over the shower drain.

but they also speak English so I am not sure if this makes a difference.

I was using coffee grounds.  Seemed to work very well for the yard.  Sadly, they are also in the back Thai kitchen and found they had sprayed there.  Sucks.
